Man Utd close to signing Sancho
    Arsenal close to signing Willian

    Peak Arsenal?

390k wages off the books and apparently a €15m transfer fee? Daylight robbery, that is.

Fair play to him as well. Cause he won't be getting that wage at Inter. Could very easily have not gone out on loan and stayed and picked up his wage for another couple of years. Good for him for seeking out playing time, delivering, and earning himself a move.

He’s apparently getting the full wage for a year at Inter.

Nah sorry this post is bad.

We don't have 120m to spend on one player, and if we did, I'm sure we would be trying to get these players. We're way poorer than Chelsea, United, Liverpool and City, and yet guess who beat all of them in the last few months? Us.

We have a long way to go, but getting good consistent performers like Willian that can provide experience to help our younger players like Saka, Martinelli, AMN is a good way of building a better squad. Nine goals and nine assists in 28 starts isn't bad when it's a free transfer and we need to save money and be smart.

That is wild, everything I read said Inter was not going to pay it at all and couldn't even afford it. They wanted him to take like a 40% wage cut the last I read.

Aw never mind. We aren’t getting a transfer fee for Sanchez.

  10. At least none of you have had to read the news of your club being linked to Troy Deeney.

  13. Yes, one of the papers said we were monitoring or something like that. It sounded like bs but who the hell knows.

Well, we've just signed Branislav Ivanovic so I guess anything can go down this window.

I can't remember if this thread is where I first found this account, but if not - this is the best account of Twitter. Absolutely top quality.

  16. Well now that Willian to Arsenal seems likely I’ve been seeing the Countinho to Spurs rumors pick back up. I’m pretty torn on that. I’d assume any deal would include Barca paying part of the wages. Otherwise Levy would never do it. And we know he can be a really good player. But you could just as easily get shit out of him.

If we are going to be running a 433, I do like the idea of him and Lo Celso as the two attacking mids. Otherwise I don’t know how we fit him in.

Not saying sign a 120m player, but signing a 32 year old on a 3 year contract is not a great deal. 9 goals but half-ish are penalties. Don't see it as a money saving deal when Arsenal need greater improvement in other areas to push the top 5.

So when do we think Sancho gets announced by United? I reckon 2-3 days. The rumours have started hitting up after a couple of denials, that means it's close usually.

Not only would it be peak Mourinho to sign someone like Deeney, it would handily allow me to distill four of my biggest footballing hatreds into a single thing (Mourinho/Deeney/Alli/Spurs)

You're very welcome haha. I love that account.

Oh in which case I do agree with you for sure, I just felt like the comparison was a little unfair.

I knew I found it from somewhere and that it was likely here, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity of spreading it. Thanks!

It’s funny, I’m always more confident in a deal when the United linked journos start denying its close.

I won't lie, I saw the theory first on r/reddevils, but there's a clear link between the denial briefing (ie the night all the high profile journos either deny interest or severely play it down) and the day the transfer is announced. Like exact number of days. And we had that's denial last week or sometime I think it was.

If you buy into all this journalist speculation of course. Which I do and love haha.

Apparently Chelsea are willing to part with Kante this off-season for the right price. @ Barca board make it happen

    Not so sure about that.

Dortmund did already set 08/10 as the deadline, because they need to know whether they have to sign a replacement. No chance you sign him that late. Dortmund are not in a position where they need to sell Sancho at all costs. I bet they are happy if they can keep him.

So are we still pretending de Gea was the best keeper in the world at some point?
