  1. Another report out of Italy mentioned Brozovic and Skriniar as possible players in a swap.

Both are great players so that just tells me it won't happen, but if it does give me Skriniar.

I was trying to describe myself to someone

I'm not that sad it's fallen through. I don't know that I'd have kept calling myself a Newcastle fan with that shower of shit in charge. Unfortunately, I think this will get us relegated now. Ashley won't have sanctioned any money for transfers (Covid-19 will be an excuse on this too) and so I think we'll be struggling along with a stagnating squad which lacks a goalscorer. We got away with it this year because so many teams were utterly incompetent.

The only hope now would be that maybe Ashley would take less money for the club, with the rest of his businesses taking such a pounding in the current climate.

Given City have had so many injury issues with centre backs and some players who really aren't performing, Ake is looking like a safe pair of hands (or feet). I don't think he'd necessarily be worth £41m for any other club, but makes a lot of sense for their squad. From what I've seen of him, he's a solid player. Really hoped Newcastle would sign him a couple of years ago when his loan at Bournemouth was ending.

I would be making so many bottling jokes right now if it wasn't for two things...

    1. We have a final on Saturday that I don't feel confident about
    2. This is a fantastic idea and I actually like it.

Make a plastic joke instead? Lol

Also, will this make the kits cheaper or more expensive?

I really really hate that weird line design that seems to be on the fabric of all the Nike jerseys

    That is a great kit.

Ngl though, Nike SUCK at football kits. Since we went to Adidas our kits have been 1000% better.

It's interesting because Nike is far and away the best at college (american) football uniforms.

  9. Fabrizio is usually pretty accurate with his transfer news, right?

A couple of the english journalists shot down his report of Ndombele possibly going to Inter. Stating the club doesn't want to "give up on him" and that he'll be given a proper chance next season.

I don't know which to believe tbh. As much as I want him to be successful with Spurs, and I think he has the talent to do it, I think there's a decent chance he could turn into a bust with us. The easy thing to do is blame Jose and say he runs off players etc, but the rest of the team is happy. And Ndombele's fitness issues were present with Poch as well.

Poch started him often but out of 13 starts he only played 90 mins twice, was consistently taken off at 60 min, and was yanked at half against Brighton. And it was reported then that his limited minutes was because of fitness. Then he got hurt. And he just never really got back in the team.

I feel like if we are offered 45-50m or a good player swap (like what Fabrizio reported), we should take it. Ndombele might end up being a really good player and it'd sting to see that happen elsewhere. But what would be worse is if we keep him for another season and his value plummets below 20m and we take a huge loss.

    seriously though...

who would we even get from Juve? Rabiot is just another difficult character. Ramsey is in huge wages. Rugani or someone more lowkey like that?

Keep seeing Barca want Eric Garcia back. You can have him if City gets Messi in return (in all honesty Barca would steal with this).

  18. So they are starting with -12 points basically?

Why would they not take the points from this past season? Not fair to Charlton who would stay up if they did.

Apparently, we've bid £18m for Sergio Regulion. The only way I can see this one being true is if Digne is off. There's no way we'll start next season with two solid LBs. The only reason we got away with that with Baines is because of his age and allegiance to the club. Also, I've heard it would be good for FFP if we sold Digne for a high fee and replaced him with Regulion.

If Shaw hadn't had a recent uptick in form, I'd 100% take Digne at United. I feel like every time I watch him, he's been good or better.

Ya, he does. It seems that way to me, too. I don't want one of our better players leaving by any means but needs must if it.gives us a transfer budget.

The whole process has been shambolic from start to finish. As stated in the article, it has dragged on for over 8 months. Realistically it should have all been sorted by the new year, at which time a points deduction would have left us mid table and our subsequent plummet down the table would have left us relegated. No complaints could have been made. If the points deduction was to be applied to this season, we could sue claiming the EFL deliberately waited to make a decision to ensure that we were relegated. Charlton were piss poor all season and deserved to be relegated.

As for Wednesday, the way we have been run over the past five years is nothing short of a disgrace. The owner threw everything at getting us up in the first few seasons and completely ignored outside advice. Now we’re left with an average manager, a threadbare squad and a points deduction that we seems very unlikely to be able to make up considering our form since Christmas.

I believe the points deduction starts next season because its an independent panel making the decision about financial spending. Whereas Wigan's instant deduction this season was because they entered administration and the EFL was in charge of that deduction.

That's what I've seen said elsewhere, no idea if it's correct or not.
