We are so bad tonight. Torreira was really awful in the first half and we have only looked half decent since Xhaka came on.

 

My word this is bad. Just passing between our centre backs, then losing the ball and falling back to defend. For 75 minutes.

 

Seeing a lot of rumors saying Juventus have reached out to Poch. What a great match that’d be.

 

I really wish we had Grealish. Him and Lo Celso would be quite the duo in the midfield. We’ll never see him now.

 

We are truly awful against defensive low block teams. A huge lack of creativity.

 

I know there was quite a bit of rotation tonight but I'd also say that a front three of Lacazette/Aubameyang/Nketiah is not a good selection for facing a low block.

 

Agreed. I made that point to someone before the match. There was no creativity in the team at all, and anyone could have told you that. Kind of hard to know the alternative though when we just don't have that kind of player.

 

Great for Villa. Hope Grealish stays and gets a chance at the England squad.

Where do we think Grealish is going, by the way. The teams that actually need him (Arsenal & Spurs) can't afford him, and the teams that seem to want him (United) absolutely do not need him and should be prioritising other things.

Would love to see him at Arsenal, and he always tweets about how the Emirates is his favourite stadium and how much he loves Arsenal, but let's be real, we can't afford him if they stay in the league.

 

I think Spurs can afford him but we have bigger needs to address elsewhere.

Although, if the Ndombele drama is real it wouldn't surprise me if he is sold this window. It would suck because I still think he's full of talent, but it is what it is. I wouldn't expect to get the full amount we paid for him back, but I don't think it'd be much less. We could then use that money to fund the move for Grealish, who would be a much better fit in the role we have attempted to use Ndombele.

Grealish - New DM - Lo Celso

 

As far as the new DM is concerned, it appears we are still favorites to sign Hojbjerg. I still have mixed feelings on it but a recent Athletic article kinda won me over.



He appears to be pretty dominant defensively which is exactly what we need. But his possession stats are concerning. The article suggests this part of his game could be cleaned up with different tactics. Jose would surely have him playing more conservative passes so I think that part is true.

 

are Spurs even linked with Grealish?

 

I haven't seen anything recently but we've been linked to him pretty much every window for a couple years now

 

yeah I meant recently.

We've been linked with him for a couple of months now, but I can't get my head around why. We don't need him. The latest rumours are we're signing him or Donny Van de Beek. I'd understand VdB because he could play in Pogba's position. But Grealish can't.

 

Yeah, it really would be a luxury buy. Spending that money on a CB Skriniar would make more sense.

 

If Leicester sells Chilwell or Ndidi for a ton of money I could see them going after Grealish as well
