Remember a couple weeks ago all the papers saying Jose was bad for him?

 

So what would be great is a Leicester red card or two and another couple of goals. I’ll take the 3-0 but fuck me the above would be beautiful.

 

So what are the permutations of this for the United game? Leicester can't be eliminated today can they, regardless of how bad they lose? The game next week is still going to be winner takes all regardless?

 

Feel for Leicester. Just can't defend those counter attacks without Soyuncu, Chilwell and Pereira. Lose stability in possession without Madison too.

Looked like Son was moved to the right towards the end of the half, perhaps for that reason.

No. The worst they can be next week is 3 points behind us and behind on goal difference. If that happens they could still mathematically get it by smashing us.

Ridiculous that football has got to a place where fans would rather get top four than win the FA Cup.

FA need to seriously consider some major change(s) to make it matter more. It's just stupid as it is.

I agree. But it is what it is right now. I’d love to win the FA cup. But winning the FA cup and coming 5th does a lot of damage to us when it comes to continuing to rebuild the team.

 

I know exactly why it is, it's just a ridiculous situation. The last thirty years the governing bodies in football have fucked it to the point where fans care more about finishing fourth (i.e. nowhere) in their league than winning their domestic cup competition.

It's money grabbing all the way. In terms of Champions League, it should never have changed from only the league champions qualifying (plus current holders). Now they're in a place where it will never be changed. Just means the same countries and same teams dominate year after year. And the negative effects of that are countless.

Agreed. I would love a proper Champions League and Cup Winners Cup.

Yep. And a Uefa Cup/Europa League that actually matters. The economic spread across countries outside of the main ones would be great, and domestic competitions would matter so much more and in such a healthy way too.

Unfortunately, we're never getting that back, barring a huge collapse in football from the top down. I do find myself wishing for that nowadays to be honest.
