My thoughts were that you wouldn't need his workrate as much if you had the solid base of Henderson and Fabinho, who both have a pretty good-great passing range, which would then free up Thiago to offer a bit more cute creativity.

But I can see why you'd drop Henderson and keep Gini. Either way, Thiago would improve their midfield and offer a different dimension to their play.

 

And when they get up in games they can just have all 4 mids out there and take off one of the wingers

 

I was hoping Barca would bring Thiago back in. Their midfield is missing someone like him.

 

Sané is getting the #10 at Bayern. Taking over from Coutinho who I completely forgot was at Bayern.


He really is an odd one, very exciting young player, then was pretty awful at Inter when given the opportunity. But goes to Liverpool for 8m or something like that and turns into a world class player. Then after Liverpool has been pretty crap all around again.

 

And next he'll be shitty for Spurs before going to West Ham and riding off into the sunset.

 

There are plenty of options. Fabinho is clearly the best holding midfielder in the squad, in and out of possession, but all sorts of combinations are available in the other two spots.

 

Just wanted to make a sappy appreciation post. None of my friends care about soccer and it's my favorite sport. It gets frustrating not really being able to talk about it with anyone haha but that's why I'm glad I still post on this site. This is really the only thread I consistently post in. So just wanted to give a shout out to everyone in here. Thank you for putting up with me lol

I can't remember if this has been posted in here or not, but this has been going round today regarding Wigan's situation. The whole thing is totally bonkers and sounds like something from a movie. Also absolutely horrendous for the club.

 

Spurs fans like to bring this up a lot and while it brings back great memories, it’s sad lol we were playing so well and everyone had completely bought in to the manager. It was the perfect time to make a big signing or two and take the next step. Instead, we waited 3 years to make a big move and now we suck.

I've seen a bit of resistance from Liverpool fans this morning because they wouldn't want to spend the money required on getting Thiago for someone of his age, but the guy is world class, their midfield is probably their weakest area (relatively speaking) and he would be their best midfielder.
