Is there a world where Poch pulls a Zidane and goes back? Mourinho stays for 2 seasons, has a meltdown, Poch comes back. The squad has been refreshed a little, he's been refreshed a little, they'll be grateful for anyone that isn't Mourinho at that point.

Honestly I don’t know if there is a possible fix to stop what is currently happening in Germany, Italy and France, whilst maintaining sporting integrity.

In the case of Bayern and Juventus, you can at least see that they have done it via being well organised and making good decisions.

Juventus benefitted from the usual competition of Inter and Milan being in awful places, and Germany just doesn’t have many clubs in a position to challenge Bayern financially at all.

I feel like a lot of suggestions feel a bit forced and artificial.

  5. I don’t know if it’ll happen exactly like that but I definitely think Poch will return one day.

100% this is what I want. I'm still wary when a manager moves to a big club though, it can genuinely just break them as coaches. Look at Mourinho before and after Madrid or Moyes after United.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Can’t even imagine how good a Poch team would be if he had real support from ownership

Poch would be stupid to go to Barca with their current issues at board level.

  11. Hey now Levy might be cheap in the window but he’s grown the club so much from where it was before he was running the show. He brings me great frustration but I appreciate him quite a bit.

  12. It’s kinda crazy how many players say the best player they’ve ever played with is Mousa Dembele. Trippier pointed out that our downfall started as soon as we sold him. I think there’s a lot more to it lol but it’s partially true. We’ve never replaced what he could do. Dude was a beast.

Offered 25k a week. Word is he wanted more opportunities. They also Solskjaer has thought he was anonymous and hiding in games when he has played. Shame. He's a great young lad, but very small and weak. If he signed he was going to be loaned off to the Championship as part of a full plan to getting to the first team, maybe he thinks he's better than that?

There's been a few subtweets about his agent and advisors too saying they were pushing him to leave and he's been advised badly.

Oh and there was also word about 2 months ago that Gomes was close to signing a new contract, but was apparently "very hurt and upset" when that leaked lol. I think that's when we gave him a take it or leave it offer.

Should have gone on loan at the start of the season imo, he has to earn the opportunity to play in the first team but it must suck for him too if it's his size/strength that is holding him back (The championship can be even more physical than the PL so he could go on loan there and not be able to adapt right away or something). Will be interesting to see where he goes; if those advisors push for a move to another top 6 club he'll just find himself in the exact same position as he's in now surely

Probably, but what Championship team would take a 5"3' #10? His best option imo and probably the one Ole was hoping for was him to do enough to go straight to the first team like Greenwood or even Williams. Everyone can see the talent Gomes has and I’d assume everyone in the club would have assumed he’d take Periera or Lingard’s place. Despite both being, well, shit he hasn’t. Lingard was small and weak too (though, 6 inches taller than Gomes) and didn’t go out on loan until where Gomes would be next season, I think we’re very protective of our talented young players when it comes to loans, the vast majority of them fail.

I think the spectre of Sancho is weighing heavy on young players at the moment. He was teammates with Gomes in the youth teams. Left City and instantly became a first team player for a top club. Maybe Gomes and the people around him see that and think Gomes can be the next one. It's probably worth it for him if he believes he can go and jump into another first team day 1. But I don't see any side having an opening for him at the moment. He needs to take games by the scruff of the neck for that to happen, which he doesn't. Even for the youth teams where he's been fantastic, when it's tough he lets games slip on by. He's not one that will be the 10/10 performer when everyone else is struggling.

Is that really worth it? I like Hojbjerg, but he doesn't strike me as a player I'd specifically target to the point of getting rid of others. Is he much better than what Spurs have in their first team midfield?

  20. I’m on the fence with this one. I think we could do much better but I think the appeal is PL experience, and he was captain of a team at a young age. He just seems inconsistent. But I can’t say I’ve watched him a ton so I don’t know.

Regarding the part about needing to sell players to get him, I don’t believe that. He’s going to cost between 15-20m.

I forgot how small gomes was. I wonder what squad Ole will put out there today. Bruno looked like he was about to keel over towards the end of extra time against Norwich

Ole said the other day there's no reason players who played Saturday can't start tonight, but I hope that's a bluff or something. He ran Rashford into the ground before and he ended up out injured for weeks. I hope he doesn't do the same to Bruno. If we can't win tonight without him, we probably don't deserve the points anyway.

  23. United saying they won’t pay an insane fee for Sancho is nice to hear. I’m guessing they’ll end up paying more than the 50m price limit they put out there but there’s no way Sancho should be sold for 100+ like some papers have claimed.

Reading the global room more than anything should affect transfer fees.
