Ya, I agree on Marcelo. Inter must be giving Real first rights to someday on top of the 40m. I mean they must be, right?

We'd all be celebrating a City title win today if they'd done this last summer. Excellent piece of business.

Yeah that was a bit unexpected but not too surprising since it never seemed like Real were too keen on getting him back asap. They seem content with Carvajal which may be reasonable if he is more stable defensively than Hakimi, which also wouldn't be a surprise as Hakimi's value lies more so in his attacking ability. As it is, Real are not struggling defensively so I can understand the pass on him.

My buddy who is a United fan has been high on Koulibaly for the last couple of years and hoping they'd sign him at some point. This would be hilariously frustrating for him.

Hakimi is going to be an absolute behemoth of a wing back in Conte’s system

My girlfriend has only followed and gotten into football since we have been dating, and asked me how they got to be so good if they hadn’t won the title in so long. I had kind of explained that about 6 years ago they were in the same position Arsenal currently find themselves.

It turns out it’s hard to explain because they have done so much to revitalise Liverpool as a club.

They sold players for good money at exactly the right time such as Coutinho, or Torres if you go back farther, and reinvested. They spent on a mixture of great young players and players like Mane or Wijnaldum who were outstanding players at mid table PL clubs. They scouted and identified players like Firmino and Salah before other PL clubs could. And they also managed to galvanise the fan base behind them in a massive way and have amazing squad chemistry. And finally they identified what was missing to push them over the line and they were willing to spend big on those flaws (Allison and VVD).

honestly, the work that club has done over the last few years is FLAWLESS. They deserve the win. I’m actually pretty happy for them. Maybe in 5/10 years it could be us again.

Andy Roberson for 8 million from Hull City was such a fantastic signing. He’s been my favorite to watch of the bunch. Him and Bobby Firmino

As a United fan i’ll get shit for this, but we’ll done to this current Pool side. As a neutral, i’m picking this side over Pep’s City side any day of the week. Would love to see a match between United 07/08 and Liverpool 19/20.

I was trying to describe myself to someone

Liverpool have had two back to back amazing years, competing with teams who appear to have infinite resources makes it that much more impressive. As mentioned above, they've been so shrewd in transfers, rather than just throwing money around until they eventually win something. It really should serve as a lesson to the likes of Man United, Spurs and Arsenal that running a rich club properly will get you places.

Mourinho's 2005 Chelsea would still hold this Liverpool team to a 0-0 at Anfield and would grab a "hard-fought" 1-0 victory at Stamford Bridge :-p

Is anybody else around here old enough to remember when Werder Bremen were good? It's not looking good for them at all now.

Sanchez and Hakimi on the bench for Dortmund. Hmmm

Villa are absolutely abject aren't they? This is probably only the 3rd or 4th time I've seen them this year, but they're just constantly out of ideas.

Presumably to give a couple of our youngster more time on the pitch. Morey and Reyna deserve the opportunity since Dortmund have little left to play for aside from finishing the season on a positive note. They also showed last week against Leipzig that they can handle the task. Many fans were calling for an even more youthful lineup and would have preferred at least 2 other youngsters to start so

Haha I don’t know the ins and outs of Dortmund so I was just hoping it’s because of the Hakimi to Inter news and hoping that also means Sancho has a deal wrapped up :-p

I can definitely understand that. As far as it is from being my decision as to where Sancho winds up, personally I think it would make the Prem a bit more interesting to see him at United. So for what its worth, I'm hoping with you. :)

Havertz also on the bench today.

Now that's interesting. Although Leverkusen haven't been the best in the last couple of matches, they still have a chance for Champions league today so I'm not sure about that one.
