Football is cancelled.

 

Tbf we looked good early on, then we got two injuries and City got a bit more up to speed, but it was still competitive.

Then that fucking clown haired mistake-factory got involved.

Defender we got from Brazil. Used to be a City youth prospect I believe. He has been decent when he played. He's on loan until the summer then we can sign him.

Ceballos started brilliantly, kind of petered out and got injured. Then he was playing well again before COVID. Not enough to buy him but he's been useful.

Anyone seen the absolute howler in the Villa vs Sheffield United game. Hawkeye fails for the first time in 9000 games and VAR sits on its hands. VAR picking up where it left off.

 

Hilarious decision. The statement from Hawkeye is a beaut as well... we have never seen this level of occlusion before!!!!!

 

I think the VAR thing is totally fair game, but I feel a little bad for Hawkeye. 1 in 9000 chance (at least. Probably higher since I don't think this has ever happened before in any other league either). They're the gold standard for ball spotting. Unfortunately things like this, though extremely rare, can happen.

Doesn't excuse why VAR didn't take a look and confirm the goal within 10 seconds, but still.

 

Yes, I agree with this. It was just the statement that made me laugh. "Quick... throw in a word the average football fan won't know".

 

Oh for sure! That wasn't aimed at you, but I'd just seen quite a few snarky comments from people online and on Reddit and things which it was more aimed at. Bet Hawkeye are absolutely fuming at the refs though. They could quite easily get tainted with this when really there's nothing more that they could have done to avoid this (short of adding 100 extra cameras just in case haha).
