That is a remarkable badge. Simultaneously very boring and quite ugly at the same time. If the FC wasn't there, I would assume they made steel beams or something.

Compared so St Louis & Austin, it's just bland?

As someone not from the US, I know absolutely nothing about San Diego, and that tells me nothing.

Design by committee, I suspect.

 

Not sure how you put “best weather on the continent” on a badge, but that’s certainly not it.

 

Doing the Loyal wrong and doing it with a dogshit crest, sounds about MLS.

easily a tier-2 MLS ‘98 logo. Setting the bar low for that inevitable rebrand years down the road.

 

San Diego Surf is a youth team and has had amazing branding. We also have a lot of Spanish influence.

They saw the price the Loyal wanted and decided to spend 1/100th of that.

And not a lot of people loved that initially. But at least their ideas were executed well

Need that rebrand yesterday. Starting with throwing the FC in front and being a Fútbol Club

 

That Loyal logo is awesome. Quite the downgrade.

It's wild seeing a NISA level crest out of an MLS team.

Like you are in California and you use a Costa Rican designer? This is some Temu level shit.

 

I know Loyal spent more on the design company. Hell, 1904 probably did too.

 

It's just wild to me that you are located in California which my guess has some of highest concentrations of graphic design firms and you got outside of that. Not trying to sound nationalistic but it really makes no sense to me. I think typically teams like using local design firms because its easier for them to understand connection points between the city, team, and the design.

 

Even if Loyal was staying I would still be out there for the opening match. But I'm in ZERO rush to go get any merch. I went out of my way to ensure I had a Loyal shirt for their opening match.

Only reason I don't for Wave is because the NWSL prices their kits too high

 

Something my partner brought up was the fact that Loyal had difficulty finding the right color with Adidas for their kits. I wonder if this chrome and azure are already in their catalog. Otherwise a big head-scratcher

 

It's impressive that they have somehow managed to get parts of this so wrong. The nearly-falling-down Old Trafford at number three? Etihad down at 11? Molineux so high? Amex so low? Vitality below Kenilworth Rd?

I never went back to it. Surprised they have the Emirates so high. I've only heard negative things about it

 

OT is iconic, but it’s also a piece of fucking shit.

 

It’s a very good stadium, but it has/had problems. The main issues are the transport links which are genuinely shite (though that’s a London issue in general with stadiums), and that it had no atmosphere until a few years ago. The new fan and ultra groups really helped.

It also needed better upkeep, and a refresh. Which we’ve done now and it’s vastly better. Says a lot about what happened with our club that it got into a state inside 15 years tbh.

Spurs is comfortably first, by a country mile, with The Emirates, The Etihad, and St James definitely the next best.

 

Oh great, it's time for our yearly "give them 3 points at Anfield" day. I guess another way of looking at it is the fact few teams get something at Anfield.

 

Can't help but feel that Pawson's going to fold at his first big decision.
