I think he was banned from training and friendlies for half his ban.

 

Yeah, he can train now. Which is why I thought a club would sign him in the summer vs January. He'd have time to work himself into the team and be ready to go as soon as the suspension is over.

Crazy stuff hearing that. Whilst it was significant human error, VAR is set up to fail if that's how decisions are taken.

The lack of checks + balances, of confirmations and almost a QA or clear language guidelines means mistakes like this are easy to make. I cannot believe there's not a process in place to clarify what the "check complete" was. I work in a much, much smaller organisation and there's no way that process would get approved.

 

Very naive performance from Union Berlin, throwing away a 2 goal lead at home. They'll learn over time, I guess, but the Champions League is so unforgiving.
