  1. Now.....US hiring Poch....I can get behind that!

I suspect Poch can only be afforded by about 5 national teams in the world. Argentina, Brazil (obvs wouldn’t happen), England, France, Germany.

I do wonder if he ends up coaching Argentina.

  3. It's funny, the last couple windows Spurs were heavily linked to Sofyan Amrabat and fans, myself included, just did a massive eye roll and hated the idea because he wasn't a flashy name. But after watching him in this WC we probably should've closed the deal lol he will be more expensive in January.

I almost responded that United do, just out of instinct from the last decade.

What big club has an opening for Luis Enrique? One of the Italian giants?

I wish The League Cup did more experimental ideas like this. It needs to have a purpose, and the reluctance to get rid of teams playing in Europe means they should get experimental imo.

Force teams to have at least 3 u21s at all times, and trial ideas. Cause otherwise it’s just a tournament the big six don’t take seriously until the semi finals.

Did you actually read the rules of this Dubai Cup? 2 points for draws and an additional shootout no matter the scoreline for another point. And Liverpool and Arsenal don't play each other but instead both play twice against Milan? I understand wanting to have a bit of change but making up rules that make absolutely no sense is definitely not the way.

Yeah, I was just using it as an example rather than seeing these rules in particular were good. I actually wouldn’t mind seeing somewhere experiment with the idea of goalless draws being no points, from a purely entertainment perspective, but does that make it harder for smaller teams?

Man, this guy really retired early. Did he retire due to injury or was it the Drip Doctors thing?

In case you’re subscribed to this thread and not the World Cup one… Grant Wahl died at the Argentina game and his brother is accusing the Qataris of foul play. Drew posted a bunch of context tweets. US Soccer confirmed he passed.
