Looks like he's taking the job

 

This is kinda where I'm at with Lloris. He is an amazing shot stopper, but his mistakes are everywhere else and they are usually devastating. Whether or not the Wilson goal should've been a foul, the goal is still on Lloris for being in that situation. And the second goal came after another example of his terrible ball distribution.

He's been great for us during his time at Spurs, but I really hope we invest in his replacement in the summer.

 

I agree with you somewhat but don't feel too deflated by words from Garth Crooks. He's a laughing stock.

 

Lloris is so low on my list of concerns with this team right now.

 

I don't agree with the "they won't win anything with him as keeper" but I also think we need to move on and replace him.

 

He really does have a high profile mistake in him. The whole Wilson situation was so avoidable. He could have blasted that ball into space, but instead he tries to control the ball outside his area, messes that up, then gets into a collision with Wilson as well, follows that with some panto level acting and in doing his little routine, gave himself no chance of getting back in his area and at least having some chance of getting a hand to the ball. The collision with Wilson has probably softened the reaction for him a bit. Without that, people would purely be talking about his decision making, which was atrocious.

On the other hand though, he's a very good keeper a lot of the time. Realistically, who are you getting who guarantees you something better over the course of a season? In the PL, maybe Martinez? A gamble with Henderson? Otherwise I think you're going abroad and probably spending big money.

Money. Getting players in that aren’t just on loans. La Liga is a mess financially. Villa will back the hell out of him and he gets a raise I’m sure.
