Forest spending money like they're Barcelona this summer

  2. Huge win for Charlotte last night. This was the winning goal. Great long ball from Fuchs and flick from Swiderski for the assist.

    They’ve stolen their lever

The second I heard of the Casemiro to United link, I drew parrallels to Allan's move from Napoli to Everton. Both quality players when used to a system, both on huge wages and also both suspect to injuries due to their ages.

Obviously, I hope it works out for United but we've only got 6 months max (overall) out of Allan. He's now a sick-note on a huge salary whom we can't shift.

Can’t wait for Chelsea’s striker to have an Arsenal tattoo on his arm lol

Apparently we've offered Casemiro €385K a week which is almost €70K a week less than David De Gea earns. There's no real point to this post other than De Gea is stealing a wage

  8. Casemiro obviously makes United better for this season but it's just a weird strategy when the squad clearly needs a methodic overhaul. Missing out on top 4 for a couple seasons is fine if you're showing a clear direction and strategy towards the future but missing top 4 while signing two aging midfielders to a squad that seems to be in turmoil seems bad.

Big win for the boys last night with a sick ass bike from Connor Rutz. That is his second SC Top 10 bike goal.

  11. I know it was brought up in here already....but Casemiro v Romero should be billed as a ppv fight whenever we play United lol

What I find hugely interesting about this is that United’s wage structure is absolutely astronomical. The amount of players on huge wages is unsustainable for a non-oil backed club.

Its mad, but it’s a well within our current turnover. I think when Ronaldo joined it was 65% which is one of the lowest in the premier league. Add in to that, we’ve lost a huge chunk of wages this summer and the whole squad took 25% pay cuts because we missed the CL. For now, it’s ok. But a few years in the wilderness outside the CL and it will get bad quick.

Our biggest wage problem isn’t affording the wages, it’s getting rid of the players on those wages. AWB, Jones, Bailly, Lingard last year, the wages they’re on is prohibitive to selling them.

Rangnick made the point last year that United should be targeting younger players on their first or second contract, not established stars on mega wages.

Yet we binned him off and are now doing the complete opposite. Casemiro might be a great player for us, but it's a terrible deal for squad building over the next couple of years.

I was listening to a podcast earlier and they touched on something I have been thinking for a while.

As the PL goes on and the bubble grows ever bigger, the financial difference between the clubs is going to get smaller. Being able to pay £150m as opposed to £100m isn’t going to make as much difference in terms of player quality as when a club could pay £60 and the other only £10m. Look at the money a team like Forest is spending, it’s huge, and they’re getting very good players.

Eventually, the difference between the clubs will be the coaching and the pulling power. And that’s why clubs like United might struggle, because when a team like Brighton can spend and buy good players they have extensively scouted and fit in to their well coached system, you can no longer just throw expensive shit at the wall and see what sticks.

This is exactly why we need the Glazers out to be honest. We haven't had a proper footballing structure in god knows how long. Them out, and a good structure in. I was excited for Woodward to go, but it seems the replacements are just more of the same disappointments.
