United just going for 3/11 of the best starting XI the US has is a fun one. Next they'll be wanting Antonee from Fulham.

  4. Update on Romero says 10 days instead of 3 weeks. So that’s good, if true.

    hmmm

I think I'll feel old once Raheem Sterling retires. He's a month older than me so that feels like it'll be a good point for me to schedule in a week of feeling depressed about all the lost time.

    He came, he saw.

Freddy Adu is 33, which is older than me, yet he still sparks a minor existential crisis for me whenever I think about him.

I think I first heard of Freddy Adu in Match magazine, probably coming up to twenty years ago.

Turns out Marcos Alonso is younger than me which is what sparked my post.

Interesting that Gabi and Granit went. Suspect Gabi is cheering on Marquinhos but man Xhaka is dedicated.

The one for me is Wilshere. He is the same age as me (he’s 8 months older) but him retiring was a big “oh shit” moment.

I just turned 30 last week and the idea I could be happily retired right now like him is rather gutting lol.

    I do not exist.

I was shocked Alan Shearer turned 60. When you grow up watching someone when you’re 10 you just don’t realise they were around the same generation as your parents.

I think the worst feelings for me was when I turned 32 badly, twisted my ankle playing 5 a side and realised my football career was over. Ha! That and the first moment you realise the young players coming through are half your age.

That was a joke on Motd. He's 52. :crylaugh:

You had me worried for a moment there, because my parents are around his age and I was thinking that there's no way he was still playing when I was a teen if he was the same age as my parents.

Man this is adorable. I really enjoyed the parts of the documentary where they touched on the abuse he received and how he and the club dealt with it together.

It’s rare to see a list THIS wrong.

for me, top 3 are Newcastle, Palace, and Forest. Bottom three are United, Fulham and City.

I know Casemiro is world class (currently) but signing an aging player to a huge contract like that just seems dumb as fuck. Will be a huge, huge issue if he starts getting injury prone or phones it in, which there's a high chance of.

What the hell is going on with recruitment at United? How can it be such an utter shambles?

So disheartening supporting such a dumb and badly run club.

I get it's like oh wow is me, and that there's fans of teams throughout the 92 that would love to be in United's situation. Money is great, but to continually be a laughing stock and just so badly run, it's like what even is the point.

We had a right back database of over 800 players and chose AWB. W’ve been an utter shambles on the recruiting front since the Glazers came in, really. Apparently Joel Glazer is heavily involved in OK’ing transfers and likes big name signings. Fergie’s influence probably protected him from that but since then it’s been a mess.
