I'm as big a fan of Ten Hag as anyone but do you think maybe he has been too ambitious with this team in the way they are being asked to play out from the back? They were caught out multiple times trying the same move through the middle and it is clearly not something the players are comfortable with just yet, and it's up to EtH to find a compromise for now while they keep working on it in training maybe?

 

Nick has pretty much said all you can say. This summer of incompetence from a recruitment and clearing out standpoint has doomed this season from the start, genuinely nothing will change unless the Glazers sell.

Thing is we were absolutely playing the Ten Hag way in pre season. Now the pressure is on the players have fallen apart, what do you even do with that? Like take out De Gea’s mistakes this season and both games are different. We can’t play progressive football, we can’t sit back, we can’t counter. We were Vibes FC and now it’s all coming to roost.

He’s being foolish sticking with Maguire. He’s also being hung out to dry by the board who are struggling to sign Rabiot ffs. This isn’t on any one person/group. It’s everything. We’ve had no real coaching for 5/6 years now? It’s a shambles, top to bottom.

Yes I think Varane needed to be in the XI from the start of the season, I'm assuming he isn't due to fitness levels? Martinez kind of in at the deep end too and has needed to adapt very quickly, but the manager probably sees his as essential to his style. I feel bad for the players as the pressure must be immense and is only getting worse - Glazers fucking off would appease fans to an extent but as you say, there are issues with everything. I've always been a "hater" of United but that was due to their success (usually at CFC's expense!), but it is not nice to see them like this.
