How shit must Arsenal be if they only put two past us? Joking aside, what a humiliation. I'm dreading next season already.

  8. I still can’t believe Charlotte beat Chelsea. I know it was just a friendly…..but this team basically didn’t even exist like 8 months ago lol it’s literally our first season as a club. Friendly or not, that is embarrassing for Chelsea lol

I don't want to jump on board the "MLS is much better than people think and much closer to Euro levels" train quite yet (see also: Inter Miami being absolutely shellacked by a Barcelona team training for like 8 days), but also... MLS is much better than it's current perception. Same reason Barcelona's starting XI all featured in the "top 50 women's players in the world" and yet only 6 players of the USWNT, reigning two-time world champs, made the same list. As long as CONCACAF remains a cash-grab "retirement" destination in the minds of Europe, it'll keep these prejudices, but it also makes a lot of room for surprises (Costa Rica 2014 comes to mind).

Think we need to be careful reading literally anything at all into any preseason game, MLS teams involved or not. At the end of the day, they're just glorified training sessions.

That's not to say the level of the MLS is inferior. Far from it. It would be good to see in a competitive environment. But these friendlies aren't the place to make any judgements either way.

I totally agree. But some stuff you see on Twitter (Everton fans being mad they lost to MN United last night) makes you wonder just how poorly we’re viewed, haha.

I think we potentially get Seattle-Real Madrid in the upcoming Club World Cup.

  13. It wouldn’t be a transfer without us being linked to Zaniolo.

The MLS has got WAY better in just the last decade. I’d argue it’s probably a long way off the top 7/8 European leagues, but that seems okay to me. It is currently ranked 15th in the world, between Turkey and Scotland’s top leagues, which seems pretty accurate from what i’ve seen.

Out of curiosity, what list are you looking at?

Do friendlies normally go to pks? Maybe I just never paid much attention

  17. I think this is technically a tournament of some kind so it went to penalties. I honestly didn’t know until they announced it after FT in the stadium lol I was about to leave after the whistle until they said that

Someone on Reddit said that it actually wasn't technically supposed to go to penalties, but that the players caught the ref as they were heading off the pitch, and basically decided as a group to head back to then get a result either way. Didn't see this myself, but fun if so.

where would i be if i was my brain Prestigious

The City v Club America was a "Cup" so a winner had to be crowned. It was going to PKs right after regulation.

Think I have said it in here before but love that Paramount+ has all these early games for the club continental competitions. Watching games from clubs in countries that I have never seen play before is really neat. Currently watching a match between team from Kazakhstan and Hungary.

it’s definitely not flawless, it works by adding up all the coefficients of the clubs I think, but honestly it seems very accurate to me.
Not much there I look at and would question within the top 15 or so.

  23. I was going to say that MLS is probably fairly close to the Championship and those rankings reflect that. Not much of a difference in their "SPI" rating that site uses.
