I think technically United didn't really incorporate the black aspect of their kits until after the City black/red stripe kit in 1969. I think United started adding the black in the 70's. I believe that United had some black/white stripped kits in the 30's/40's but it was not like what came in the 70's. I think for a long time that United's second color was blue. Anyone that is more well versed in United's history/kit history can definitely correct me if I am wrong.

Ahh I was not looking at the sock color when I was looking at this so I guess that kind of throws off what I was saying a bit. I was only looking at the kit portion of the uniform.
