I think both are good signings but I do think it’s funny that Arsenal bought two City backups to non existent starters

    Edit: hah ^

But it should be noted that LB/RB and striker are different positions for City.

Zinchenko is basically being bought because he can play so many positions for us, and Jesus is a good striker who never got the run of games he needed imo.

When you're a team like Arsenal/Chelsea/Spurs/United, this is how you level up and flesh out your team now. And since teams from other leagues have so little money compared, we're gonna have to get used to selling to each other in the PL. It's already started with Jesus & Sterling, and I wouldn't be surprised to see these transfers become normalised like it is in Italy.

I actually think all of the above have done very good business so far this window in different ways. Spurs have gone "win now" which makes sense cause of Conte. We have addressed our weaknesses at ST and got crucial cover in CM, AM, LB and GK plus Saliba coming in finally. Chelsea and United are having much bigger refreshes which may take time, but the business they have both done have been pretty sensible (I'm skeptical on United spending SO much on Martinez but you would imagine ETH has a plan).

  5. I don't think Spurs have really gone "win now" though. I mean, yeah, we've been aggressive to increase our chances for titles in the near future, but we've still brought in a good amount of younger talent.

    Romero - 24
    Kulusevski - 22
    Bentancur - 25
    Spence -21
    Bissouma - 25
    Richarlison - 25
    Pape Sarr - 19
    Gil - 21

Majority of our purchases the last few windows have been fairly young.

    hmmm

It's just the last half an hour been cool enough outside here to open the windows. Still really warm but in the comfort zone.

I am interested to see how City would deal with a Haaland injury. Obviously they played a lot of last season without and out and out 9 but now they’ve signed him they will probably be moving towards a more traditional set up, but they also have no back up.

  9. Julian Alvarez is pretty good imo but not sure if he'd be ready to step into that role if Haaland goes down this season.

Be twice the ocean. Be twice the land.

Our oscillator stopped working a couple of hours ago. Please send help (and a new fan).

    My house smells hot.

We currently have no depth. So this will likely be the year of not competing for 4 trophies into February

There is definitely some spots of no depth but then there is spots that I think would better be called unproven depth. Totally can see at minimum four recent academy players getting anywhere from solid to backup minutes this year Palmer and McAtee at the top of that list obviously. I could see Mbete, Wilson-Esbrand, and Edozie getting put on a bench and maybe getting some time. I totally am missing a few as well as I am not super tuned in with who is rated the highest now with some of the player movement that has happened. Also wondering if say Delap shows something in pre-season that we don't keep him on for depth.

Definitely seems like a bit of a transition year and a bigger refresh happening then expected at the end of last season, mainly due to the club's policy of not forcing players to stay if they want to leave and get an offer that is at our valuation.

Sebastien #Haller had to leave the #BVB training camp in Bad Ragaz due to illness and has already traveled back to Dortmund. During examinations, a testicular tumor was discovered.

    Get well soon, @HallerSeb !

don’t forget to check your balls, lads.

We randomly cooled down today. I walked out of my house to my car on the way to the gym and was like “wait, it’s pleasant.”

    Only 85 today.

No idea why these Palace players are fouling and diving like it’s a cup final :crylaugh:

    @fangclubb Prestigious

They’re surrounding the ref at half time in a friendly ffs :crylaugh: because the ref had the audacity to book one of them after the fifth or so foul to stop a counter.

I’m pretty sure we just scored the best goal we’ve scored in about a decade. It’s absolutely crazy that it’s taken two weeks for Ten Hag to actually make us play decent football

I think Sancho will really benefit from it. He always seems to me like a player who performs much better when he has options to combine with rather than a winger you stick wide to isolate a full back.
