First signing I've been okay with missing out on in a while. Watching a 5 ft 7 CB defend against Haaland will be delightful haha.

Just hope we find another backup LB cause Tavares terrifies me and he needs a loan to learn.

but yeah I do think he’s a tad too short for centre back in the premier league even if you’re selling him 2 inches too short

 

He could be absolutely amazing for us, I have no doubt, but just seems strange to me that we're prioritising CB so badly. Don't get me wrong, our options could be better, but having a huge chasm at RB seems a bigger concern.

Could the short CB be re-positioned to a DM role in front of Varane and Maguire?

 

That was my thinking but apparently not. I could also see that trio making a good back 3 but I don’t see that happening either.

 

I was thinking United need to prioritise CB because something has got to make the outlay for Maguire look good!

I also don’t think La Liga/Spain in general will let Barcelona fail. A league without them kills a huge part of their larger tourism initiatives. Especially in light of the Spain vs Catalan politics that would come into play.

 

I just highly doubt we would put bids in for a player without getting a yes, can’t remember the last time we got “this far” before being told no. Most reporters linked with United have mentioned it’s mostly agent ploys to get those deferred wages. Key thing I’ve read in most of the Barca side reports is “he doesn’t want to leave”, not “he doesn’t want to join United”. Whether he joins or not I don’t know.
