Minute applause in the 7th minute for Ronaldo’s baby boy that passed away. In looking back at my post I realise it comes off a lot more sarcastic than it should have.

No worries, a lot happening, I get it. That was a classy touch though.

Genuinely don’t think Dalot gets a start in any other team in the top three leagues in England.

United making a mockery out of Salah's "poor" form.

    I do not exist.

Wow Man Utd really are bad. There’s no togetherness, no spirit, no commitment. I didn’t realise they were this poor.

this kind of fun policing is so dumb. It’s literally us taking the piss out of our own club and having a laugh and then some journalist has to moan about it because heaven forbid a fanbase has fun. We aren’t literally tweeting the player about it or anything so why does it matter to him?

None of the players actually want to be on the ball once they get it. Even in space, it's get rid of it as soon as you can. Hiding, the lot of them

This isn’t even close to how bad it can get. The squad is pathetic. 20 odd players that have no idea how to play together. It’s going to be a massive job in the summer for our new manager. We essentially need to dump 75% of our players and fuck, I hope we do just that.

The one touch play on the second goal made me think of this Aimar goal against us twenty years ago

You can criticise the "attitude" of the United players but often players amble around because they don't really know what they're meant to be doing. So many breakdowns in this setup from Rangnick. It wouldn't change the result but United look so ill-prepared for how to manage each phase of the game.

I mean, Rangnicks hands have been semi-tied by availablity. No Fred, no McTominay, no Ronaldo, no Cavani, no Varane, no Shaw.

Having no fit striker in the whole squad was unknown till events yesterday, so I can imagine that ripped up a few plans.

Annoying how bad United look, yet on Saturday i’m going to watching them play like it’s 1999, guaranteed.

This has been fairly consistent through the last 3 managers. At some point it simply has to fall on the players.

That's fair. But I think the setup was very naive too. I was really pleased as soon as I saw you'd come to play 5-4-1 because I could immediately see the wide overloads, the centre mids stretched wide against our no.8s, Salah vs Dalot.

It wouldn't have changed the result but that first 30-35 minutes was more than a difference in quality.

I agree overall in regards to recent years but in that first half, I don't think any of them knew how to stem the tide. Sometimes you can just tell when players don't actually know what they should be doing.

You get used to it watching United haha. Even when we play “well” it seems like that. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think Rangnick is a fantastic coach or anything. The real meat of his appointment is if he stays on at the club in a higher role but yeah our squad has so many individuals that struggle to play a team game. Scary stuff is that we’re actually playing more as a team that knows what it’s doing than any point in the last few years (last few weeks have gone off the rails though) :crylaugh:

like look at who we have in our pre-Ralf first choice defence. Shaw, Maguire, Lindelof, AWB. That’s not a unit that can truly fit together in any capacity. Even more shocking when you look at our first choice midfield in addition to that defensive unit. How do you truly get a cohesive style of play with a squad so haphazardly built?

I had similar thoughts about the formation, but more just because United have tried the 3/5 at the back a decent amount over the last few years, and it's literally never worked once. Bunch of square pegs in round holes.

I think Rangnick was shit scared at what Liverpool would do to a Magic + Pogba midfield (with good reason) and, combined with other selection issues, overcompensated (or attempted to anyway).
