It's a good plan from Guardiola. Most teams can't get in behind us because they're not willing to take the risk to push wide players up to run in behind the full backs. That's when our square defensive line is exposed. Those diagonal passes are killing us right now.

We're in a quandary because we could do with more possession to push up and get the full backs forward but we've been very sloppy passing out from the back. Best form of defence here is attack, I think. Diaz in early for Mane, please.

 

If Firmino's end product was better recently he'd be an obvious change now. Press City's deep midfielders to stop the long passes, and give a reference point to play through the lines.

you’d more often see missed headers hitting the shoulder and it going in than the above though
