I don’t know much about Steve Nicol, but Ale Moreno is one of my least favorite commentators on games in the ESPN stable. ESPNFC isn’t even televised every day, iirc. I think it’s a streaming show on the app more often than not.

 

I understand that it’s probably our last WCQ ever in Mexico with the new expanded field, but it’s hard to get super excited for the away games in Mexico (and Costa Rica) considering how poorly we typically do there and knowing we ideally need a result from both this window. Slightly worried. We really need a lot of help from Canada in particular this next week.

As long as Canada gets a result tonight in Costa Rica and we get a win vs Mexico or Panama or Costa Rica (or I guess three draws, heh), we're in, seems to be the consensus on what this next week looks like. Basically need Canada to keep Panama and Costa Rica from getting points this window (both of us play CRC away and and they have Panama away). But just like the US, Canada has never won in Costa Rica during WCQ. Cooooool.

 

Saka out of the friendlies with covid. At least it's during the break.

Also, apparently we may be signing Darwin Nunez. Yes. Yes please.

 

You guys will sign Nunez while we waste our time with Dybala and come away empty handed lol

Canada winning out this window does wonders for our qualifications, to the point some are wondering on Twitter if Canada will throw the games so that we don't qualify (lol; I mean, I thought that happened in the 2018 qualifying's last week, but we also shat the bed against T&T so it doesn't matter). So I don't think it's wrong to say that the US fans are also highkey Canada fans right now.

But, tbh, I could see us somehow winning tonight in Mexico. I don't want our qualification in another team's hands. It's not as invincible as it used to be and we don't really have anything to lose by going for it.

 

Portugal sticking to their end of the bargain so far. For that tie v Italy, of course!
