Should be, in my opinion. Ref took the safe option and VAR wouldn’t step in.

 

He's maybe got away with that a little bit. Not the most egregious example, but he's just elbowed one of the biggest players on the pitch in the face ...

 

Feels like the game has stalled a bit.

 

That’s why I think it’s a red, if you’re that out of control of your limbs you manage to elbow him in the temple you should be off.

Yeah, for me, he's been in the air and got the height from the jump and his elbow is still above his own head when he clatters Burn.

 

Burn looks pissed off. I don't know if I'd fancy having an Ent chase me round a football pitch.

3 players in between the ref and the penalty and he feels happy enough with his decision without going to the screens. That right there is the fucking problem with VAR.

 

The VAR officials can tell him he's ballsed it up though, can't they? He doesn't have to request help.

 

That too, but surely a referee should take the initiative and make sure if he’s not 100% or didn’t have a good view of the incident.

 

I think I'd prefer the ref to trust their judgement until they're told they may have made a mistake. Eroding that confidence would make the game impossible to watch.

Also, Almiron's shooting is still best described with barn doors and banjos. Jesus.

 

I would have agreed but it’s fast gotten to the point where I don’t trust a single referee’s judgement hahah. They all seem selectively blind!

Easily. We have improved from the moment we chose Laca as out CF and went with him being a link up player.

Auba didn’t fit our system and that’s not his fault.

 

Yeah, I think Arsenal are just a year or two ahead of Spurs in rebuilding. I don’t think we will win the upcoming NLD. Hopefully we can still make some progress in building the team without having CL.
