I was trying to describe myself to someone

There seems to be a lot of online traction for the youth casuals stuff. The knobs in that city centre video are all wearing the uniform for that kind of thing. Clubs and authorities really need to be doing something to stamp that out.

There's also the proliferation of coke at games too, which I've heard from a few places is way more common than it used to be.

It does seem to be getting noticeably worse as well. Lot of incidents of fans getting on the pitch. Was only a couple of weeks ago that Cardiff City fans demolished the away end concourse/bathrooms at Ashton Gate. It's made more concerning when you see the sort of people they hire as stewards. It's not like they're burly security people and they're having to deal with all these pissed up/coked up meatheads who appear to be more on the warpath than we've seen for a long time.

Sometimes it’s nice to remember we’re not the only country with horrible subsets in society

But in my mind I find

Niklas Süle joining Dortmund on a free from Bayern. Tidy signing, that.

They asked him “do you want to immediately be the most important member of our squad?”

Huh. Would have never expected that. Almost thought he might land at Chelsea with Rudiger rumored to be wanting a move at some point.

I don't know how I feel about this. More CBs that consistently perform well in our squad isn't the worst thing, but I still think our poor results and defensive record also has a lot to do with how we are set up. There has been a disconnect between the midfield and attack when it comes to defending that leaves our back four vulnerable. It seems no one outside of the defense knows how to defend (and those in defense are not doing such a great job either). When a team is able to possess the ball in our half, they too easily work the ball into the box or find ways to put in good crosses. Lucky for us, we usually have a possession advantage so it doesn't happen too often. It is just sometimes comical watching Dortmund try to defend as a unit in their own half at times, and it makes me wonder if why there is such poor execution in that facet of their game.

Sure I've asked this before, but does anyone know of any good sites to watch full match replays like the night of the game/ the day after?

I'm going to miss like the next 4 United games which is super annoying

  13. Cannot wait for the opening game. Should be a near sellout under the lights.

The team released a bunch of photos of the facility renovations for the soccer team and it looks great.

Also, Darwin Machis deal should be announced any day now. The attack is coming together nicely.

  16. Dembele was such an underrated player. He always amazed me with his ball skills and ability to retain possession no matter how many guys were clattering him.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Spurs still haven’t found a way to replace him in midfield. Such a great player that was so fun to watch.

This is super interesting. City are so dominant but cool to see things like Southampton and Leicester being so lopsided.

That's really interesting. Shows how weak we are at fullback and in out central build up play.

also interesting how Arsenal and United are almost the exact same.

Newcastle and Burnley are something else. You can really see the ASM zone. :crylaugh:

    hmmm

Now that's a graph that's interesting to see. A good illustration of each team's style and the trade-offs they make.
    • City extreme control.
    • Liverpool and Chelsea with some similarities - playing more in the channels and not much straight through the central zone in front of the box.
    • Also interesting that there's an opponent box in our right back zone. Some comments on that tweet suggesting it's down to Trent defensively but I think it's down to two things: a) when we have the ball, Trent is usually higher up and sometimes more narrow, and b) when we don't have the ball, Salah stays higher than Mane and prioritises countering position over tracking back, leaving space in front of Trent if teams look for the switch.
    • Aston Villa controlling the centre and giving up the flanks.
    • West Ham counter attacking a lot through the flanks.
    • Newcastle passing the ball to Saint-Maximin.
    • Everton with no midfield.
    • Teams like Wolves and Tottenham playing with wing backs have the consistent outball in possession, and 'give up' space in front of the wing backs when they don't have it.
    • Interesting lopsidedness with Leicester's, and in both halves of the pitch.
    • Burnley are shit.
Obviously it's done on majority, so it could swing wildly - one box may be 50.1% one way, nothing in it, one could be 80 or 90%. But it's still interesting.

Don’t ever listen to this channel for various reasons, but I think the always excellent Laura Woods nails it here, Zouma has to be prosecuted because an example needs to be made
