Adama out here playing like the Dembele we thought we bought with more end product and team connection. Someone is glad to be home and given a second chance.

Dani Alves playing DM behind Busquets in possession sometimes and down the right flank others is fascinating tactics. He’s gotta have the best engine after Kante even at 38. He’s everywhere.

Atletico are done under Simeone. I say this as someone who watches maybe 20 games a season so no expert, but my god they’re trash.

They were never blistering going forward but now they can’t even defend. They’re legitimately awful. There’s no defending being so bad going forward when you have Joao Felix, Antoine Griezmann, Correa, Carrasco, Lemar and an admittedly ageing Suarez.

Atletico should be chucking money at Poch this summer to become the new manager.

Would he provide the tactical refresh they need?

Absolutely. They need a more progressive manager. They have the players and finances to make it work, now more than ever.

As USMNT fan, I’m sad Dest is on the bench. As a longtime Dani Alves shill, I’m so fucking happy.

Forest are 2-0 up against Leicester amazingly in an east midlands derby.

Gonna head to the gym and hope that hasn’t changed when i get there and watch it on the treadmill.

I wish my gym played footy on tv any time that’s not the World Cup.

I knew Suarez would score today. Ferran has to hustle there.

Love to have a player sent off for a foul that happened due to a delayed offside call. It’s a red, but it never should’ve happened

How many yellow cards is this ref not going to show Atleti in this second half? We’re up to at least four… but he sure can flash them at the Barca coaching bench fast enough. Dude just kicked Nico in the throat.

How did Herrera get a yellow for a foul inside the box and then Atleti retained the ball and VAR missed the penalty????

Immense performance. These are the games we’ve struggled with for seasons. Promising.

And they have Huddersfield in the next round too.

They could be on a properly deep cup run. Quarters should be a minimum expectation, and if the draw is kind they could reach the semi finals.
