I watched Barcelona-Betis in a Sevilla bar in Seville in 2015, iirc. That was fun.

Betis are 100% my bet to win it. And I hope so, for my boy Hector.

Betis has scored 12 goals and conceded 1 in 3 games. But they’re also a side that randomly implodes. Games are always a blast.

Really weird move considering West Brom fans are known for wanting "attractive" football. That's what they were complaining about with Ismael cause he brought in Andy Carroll and hoofball was implemented.

I love that when he was at Newcastle, we were told to shut up and that he's doing a great job, but as soon as he's left, he's just a punchline for any club needing a manager. :poop:

Extremely nervous Pogba is going to come back from injury, play 3 or 4 storming games, and United are going to get an itchy trigger finger and offer him >£400,000 p/w for 4 years or some shit.

100% convinced anyone saying that was doing it purely to wind up Newcastle fans tbh. And i get why because as an outsider it was funny, but by god you suffered watching that. I dreaded games against Newcastle because they would be the most tedious of the year.

Anyone know why he would be advised to take time off? He does not seem the type to "down tools" and sulk because he did not get a move in Jan

He'd managed to come to terms with leaving his boyhood club after a month of back and forth, plus one of his colleagues had been arrested for rape, meaning the move did not happen. He'd probably spent a week househunting in Newcastle, then had it ripped away. That's not even mentioning anything that might be going on in his personal life, with him being a carer for his siblings.

Whole lot of nothing. United probably think they have a squad together for tonight, so why not give him and extra day or two off and come back refreshed and focussed given he will likely now be a contributor for the rest of the season. Think it's getting blown out of proportion for clicks.

You know it’s going to happen!

He’s turned down two moves last summer and early in Jan. He only decided he actually wanted to go in the last week of the transfer window, but he didn’t want to go on a permanent to make sure he was still out of contract in the summer.

It’s just his PR shit after Rangnick called him out publicly. He can go back to posting photos of him in West Ham jerseys on Instagram now or getting his brother to insinuate he’s in jail on over 100k a week.

He didn’t spend a week house hunting fwiw or anything like that. He spent the week in Dubai with Rashford.

Well yeah unlikely he himself did, but I meant more headspace wise and probably had his team around him planning for the Newcastle move. Maybe it was him asking for time, or maybe it was the club saying take two days off, get your shit together, and be ready for next week. Either way, I don't see it as a massive issue if he comes back in the right frame of mind to contribute from Monday.

I don’t see it as a big issue either. But I think that tweet is fucking stupid and never should have been sent out. It’s incredibly unprofessional, especially in addition to the numerous other unprofessional things he’s done this season. To be fair to him, he should have been sold in the summer but he turned down a move away in favour of a loan so I don’t feel bad for him.

I do take it as a sign that the manager isn’t coddling players any more after Ole spent his whole time here doing so. Which is good.

Absolutely, the tweet shouldn't have been posted and it's really unprofessional, along with the insta pics of him in West Ham shirts and all that. The club need to get a grip on the airing of dirty laundry in public, but I do like that Rangnick is telling it how it is. Same thing with Martial the other week.

I don't know. There were a lot of pundits and people in the media in on the joke if that were the case. It still hasn't stopped. There's loads of tweets about our transfer window along the lines of "Imagine if Bruce had signed Wood or Burn".

We'd have been pleased to have bloody signed anyone in a January window... I don't really remember Bruce getting particularly criticised for who was signed anyway, as I don't think anyone believed he was the one doing it. It's going to be fun being so popular...

I genuinely think Bruce is a decent manager is the goal is staying up. But that's about it. Should be replaced when the goals become anything else.

I do wonder when/if we will actually see a top 6 English club get bought out. They would cost a lot of money, but don’t actually make fantastic returns.

Especially since City have shown you can save the £1 or £2 billion in buying the club, and invest that in the squad instead.

  21. Apparently ENIC set the price at 3B lol

  22. There were some pretty strong rumors of Bezos buying the naming rights to the stadium last year. Maybe he can just buy the whole club? Lol

I’d hope Spurs would continue being on of the only relatively self sustaining clubs in the league. There’s so few left in the English top flight and it would be a shame to see another club become a play thing.

  24. As long as it isn’t blood oil money I’m fine with it being some mega rich owner like Bezos. Honestly, I don’t think someone like Bezos would automatically equate to massive funds in transfers. That’s what’s a little scary. A rich person buying a team and then not particularly caring as much as the fans do.

The Khan family bought Fulham and they’re filthy rich. They don’t really make huge splashes when they’re promoted and they keep going back down.

  25. no blood involved in bezos’ financials; that’s for sure
