It's worded in such a weird way. Has anyone ever used that expression worded like that? "Cooking with gas" maybe or just "bringing the heat", but saying "the gas is on" feels weirdly forced.

Obviously could be an honest mistake, but gotta be aware given the context surely?

 

I've heard the expression "cooking with gas" before. It means we're ready to go after a period of doing nothing, essentially.

Yes absolutely, "cooking with gas" is the expression. That's what I meant. Like that's what it actually is - wording it the way it's worded there feels a bit forced.

 

Watching last weeks AEW Dynamite and there’s a sign that says “Tottenham get battered” flanked by two emojis and I couldn’t help but laugh when I saw it.

 

Like if they'd put "2-0 up - now we're cooking with gas! Time to bring the heat, Blues!" I wouldn't have given it another look.

 

Yeah, it's also off-putting because Chelsea has such a vocal anti- anti-Semitism stance in the last few years.

 

The wording didn't strike me that odd, personally. No idea if the admin meant it that way but it took me a while to grasp what the controversy might be.
