Surely every player they sign will have a release clause in their contract.

What he wants is a signing on fee in the summer as a free agent. He doesn't want a club spending £12 million on him and him getting just decent wages. He wants the transfer fee money to be used as a signing on fee then his wages on top of that. Fair play to him, it's his last chance at a payday. But god damn I wish United could just sell a player for once.

Probably not. I was semi-excited about Charlotte being linked because he could’ve been a good player for an expansion team. Curious who we pivot to next.

 

United fans online being like "don't sell to Newcastle, I'd rather they get relegated" are doing my nut in.

Newcastle are going to spend money one way or the other. They're probably going to stay up, let's face it. Either they give us the money for a player that won't be used and is going to leave anyway and we can then improve our squad, or they give just as much money (or maybe more) to another team, potentially someone like Spurs for Dele which then would be improving a direct rival this season.

The whole "oh well Newcastle MIGHT be good in 5 years so we should try and harm them now" thing is so overrated.

 

I know nothing about this geezer but he’s one of us so he’s very welcome. A good marketing tactic as well as a cheap backup keeper, just hope he’s good.
