Probably the right decision tbh. I understand why Auba was given captaincy at the time, but has never struck me as captain-material. Praying this doesn't lead to more friction in the team.

My money would be on Laca taking over for the rest of the season, and Ødegaard from next season onwards.

 

i was reading on r/gunners and ye really don't have any great captain candidates. Laca is supposedly gone at the end of the season. Ødegaard, Ramsdale, and White just joined. Gabriel doesn't speak English. Xhaka, well we know that history. Real miss there. Tierney, maybe? but he always seems to be injured.

 

is it just me or is it kinda going under the radar how poorly Burnley are doing? 1 win, 11 points and in the relegation spots. they have a game in hand over the teams around them but still that's pretty poor.
