Agreed. Feel like he'd be similar to Mourinho when he wanted Perisic at all costs, wanting to spend a fortune on players in their prime with little resale value (not that we ever get much anyway). Yeah that’s my issue. If Solskjaer has done one thing well, it’s purchases. They’re all mostly good to great and the majority fit the club. I don’t want to see us regressing to Mourinho style of buying players.

 

Absolutely. That's the most painful thing at the minute. We were so close to getting it right. The club has been moving in the right direction. We basically just need a more experienced and tactically astute version of Ole. I'm worried we're going to do the typical United thing of pivoting in the opposite direction now this has failed and going to be back at square 1 again.

Unfortunately I think with the squad we have at the moment (Ronaldo), you need to have a guy who can win stuff this year and next. Obviously he’s no long term appointment, but I think he’s the best available to immediately get the most out of this squad.

 

Conte seems imminent, which is still an upgrade over Ole but in an ideal world they'd go for Zidane or ten Hag

I think Ten Hag just doesn’t want to leave Ajax yet, which is smart. Was said in the summer that he wasn’t finished there so I assume he wants the full season at the least.

For sure. Barca can’t financially afford to fire Koeman (but finances will be worse when we don’t fire him and then don’t qualify for Europe, ahem), so my assumption would be next summer at the earliest if that move is made.

 

Ten hag would be cool just seems so unrealistic. Also thought Bayern’s manager would’ve been cool before he went there.

 

How much has Zidane’s name been floated?

 

Ajax just smacked PSV 5-0 just days after turning over Dortmund 4-0, he has built something special there again and, with the right draw, they could be a real threat in the later CL knockout stages like they were a few years back. If United want him they will 110% have to keep OGS until the summer as at the very least ETH will want to see out the season.
