  1. Arsenal twitter people infiltrate any tweet about any player from other PL teams

Football Twitter is the worst. Doesn’t matter what fans, they’re all demented.

Be twice the ocean. Be twice the land.

This. I've found that Football Twitter fans are equally awful from all teams.

yeah I don't tweet about football anymore because of it. I'll sometimes tweet during rugby, cricket, (insert the many other sports I have an interest in here, and it's usually alright. Bit of banter but nothing awful. tweeting about football is asking for an avalanche of abuse from what I assume are children with nothing better to do.

  6. They are all just so damn dramatic. Every loss is a catastrophic event where they want everyone fired and every player sold.

Feels weird when people say “[X club] has awful fans” as if football twitter isn’t the the biggest hellhole on earth, regardless of club. You just notice it more with clubs like United, Liverpool and Arsenal because they have by far the most fans.

Also strange this is caused by an Athletic article because

    a) they write about literally any old shit uo to and including a manky pissy tunnel near Wolves’ Stadium

    b) we had to endure about 5,000,000 jokes about how we were “only” buying White and United were getting Varane. I don’t think one article explaining why the finances aren’t as one sided as you think is a big deal to be fair and is probably a good thing to publish for balance.

Oh don’t get me wrong, there’s merit in the article itself. I was more honed in on the “resale value” part of the tweet. Ideally, you’d hope he’s good enough and the club is good enough for the resale value to not be a factor.

Reports that Southgate is going to play TAA in midfield tomorrow. He'll do anything to play as many RBs as possible.

But seriously, what's the point? TAA is a world class RB. Play him in the position that he's trained his entire life to play. Feels like Southgate trying to be the smartest man in the room.

Has to happen sooner or later though, may as well be in a game against weaker opposition like Andorra. Loads of ex-pro's see him as wasted at RB as they feel he has the best passing range in the whole squad, might take a year or two for him to fully adapt but imagine if England got a player with Philip Lahm/Joshua Kimmich levels of versatility & quality in those positions!

I don't feel like it does have to happen eventually though. It feels like the media do this every time there's even a slightly above average technically FB, they go oh he's too good to be a FB he needs to be in midfield. The same thing happened to Leighton Baines from memory too.

I think there's a bigger advantage to be had using his quality passing when he has more time and space on the wing, creating different angles and different problems for opposition's, rather than shoving him into a congested midfield and losing that out-ball on the right.

I think the difference in this situation is that TAA is the first hyped-up full-back who actually could make the switch and still remain effective or even take his game up another level going into midfield - no offence to Baines but TAA is much better. When you look at the teams that are better than us, their best passers are in midfield - Italy have Verratti, Jorginho, Locatelli and Barella to choose from and then still have really good fullbacks. We've got great fullbacks too, but midfield we've got Rice, Phillips and Henderson to choose from, who I all really like but for me none of them are passers at a level that could see us winning trophies.

Exploiting the wings and having TAA at RB would be fine and a good fit for England for sure, I am just someone who believes the best passers should be in positions that gives them the most influence on the game and for me that is central rather than wide. Though I feel TAA is years away from being a viable midfield option, now is the time to start exploring it - if it doesn't work then we won't lose anything, if it does work then we gain something that improves us so Southgate may as well go for it. Just my 2 cents!

I guess if Southgate is going to experiment, there's not going to be a better time to do it than against Andorra.

Brazilian health officials were removing Argentina's Premier League players off the pitch but now the whole Argentina squad has walked off the pitch :crylaugh: It's match aborted by the looks of things.

  23. The stuff I’ve been reading about the Argentine players is wild. No clue what’s actually happening but some weren’t even let into the stadium.

It was only Armenia but that was the most fun Germany game in a very long time. You could already see Flicks influence, it almost felt like Bayern was playing.
Also great to see a fit Reus back in the team, hope he stays healthy and finally can play a tournament again.
And Adeyemi scored in his first game. The future looks bright.

I know Davies is one of the five best players in CONCACAF, but Yedlin is far too fast to have let that happen.
