Man, some fans really are just miserable. Spurs fans spent the last 2 days clamoring for Emerson and as soon as that deal got the "here we go" confirmation they immediately began complaining about not signing an attacking player. They're all declaring this window as a failure lol

Hart (34) --> Gollini (26) - young upgrade at backup keeper and a potential successor to Lloris.
Toby (32) --> Romero (23) - dumped Toby's wages and replaced him with a younger player who could be top class.
Lamela (29) --> Gil (20) - moved on from a wildly inconsistent, injury-prone, aging player and replaced him with a young talent people all across Spain have high praise for.
Sissoko (32) --> Sarr (18) - finally shipped out Sissoko, secured the signing of another young talent widely praised across Europe.

And then you have Emerson (22) coming in to replace Aurier (28), who we can hopefully sell today.

Sure, it would be nice to also bring in an attacking player, but it's hard to get everything you want in one window. These are the type of moves we've needed for awhile now. We got rid of aging players who aren't making us any better and replaced them with several promising young talents. It obviously want lead to massive results this season but I am a big fan of the strategy this summer.

Oh, and we kept Kane....we should be happy. Not moaning endlessly.

Yaaaaaaay. The club is a couple of dud results away from being pretty much irreparably toxic. Everyone is just sick of everything about the place. The saving grace is that we have a few players who can put smiles on faces, but everything is so fucking dour and has been for so long. It's early days, but it looks like we've gone backwards defensively really quite badly as well. Unless three other teams fancy being incompetent for us, I think we might be stuffed this year.

 

Take out Shaw and put Lingard or VdB in CAM, fuck it. 1252 formation

For those central midfield spots, I'm not sure they did really. They really only had Kante, Jorginho and Kovacic as first team options, given Tuchel wants Mount as one of the two behind Lukaku.

 

Was just typing this out as you posted lol. The boss is not keen on RLC and Ampadu as cover it seems, think they + Barkley will be loaned out tonight which leaves 4 including Saul.

 

I’m also confused as to why Saul wanted the move so bad. He’s not starting over Kante or Jorginho, is he?
