To be fair, he's turned Lindelöf into a fantastic centre back. Easily one of the most impressive players in our team since he's taken over.

Absolutely true. And to be honest, with the brand of football he seems to want to play, I'm not sure how much better we can get defensively. We have transitioned to an attack focused, high pressure team, which is always going to leave gaps. Maybe an upgrade for Matic would help solidify us in the centre. I guess it just makes me nervous that we play needing last ditch tackles or blocks or interceptions so much. But that allows for the quick transitions, so I might just have to get used to it.

Yep. That and we weren't exactly defensively solid under Mourinho.

I'm all for you score 3 we'll score 4 football though!

Makes a change just being able to score more than 1, so I'm for it like!

I didn't think their was a whole lot different with how they set up yesterday compared to how they set up the previous few times they came to the Emirates under Mourinho. Was classic counter attack football, always works for United against Arsenal.

Issue for me is you feel like Emery was brought in precisely to stop the kind of performance we had yesterday, the kind where we dominate the ball and get picked off on the counter. Yet, he picks an XI designed to dominate possession but doesn't select his best creator. Thus inviting being caught out on the break and never making your possession count. Playing two wide central midfielders because your whole attack is predicated on overlapping wide runs, leaving the middle of the pitch wide open, is just asking to be countered to death.

We pushed up more. You could see it every time the ball went back to the Arsenal centre backs. Under Mourinho we would stay at the 18 yard line. Last night we pushed up.

Yeah there was a little more press for sure but strategy was very similar, also aided by the fact this was a far worse attacking Arsenal side then the won who lost 3-1 in that De Gea masterclass. That side actually created a shit ton of high quality chances with their possession and didn’t really invite the press

Espn doing wonderful things with their FA Cup coverage. Can’t find a spot for it on one of their dozen channels

I understand wanting to promote Espn plus but not showing a single game on one of their regular channels just seems absurd

  21. Barca went another direction. He says he’s too good for us. PSG are tired of him.

That story was what my comment was in reference too. Does this guy really think he’s starting at Barca/Bayern if he can’t get in at PSG? As an Arsenal fan i should find it funny with the whole Spurs thing but it just reeks of a player with such an inflated sense of himself

  23. Yeah it’s very strange. He’s a talented player but he’s in over his head. He’s a starter at a club like Spurs, Arsenal, United. He’ll end up at Bayern or Madrid and ride the bench.

Might be making this up but i seem to recall his mom being his agent and being super outspoken. He should go to Tottenham in my opinion. If he starts a lot & proves his worth then he’ll get the move he wants in 2 years anyway

  25. Yeah I think he’d be great under Poch. His dribbling in close spaces reminds me a lot of Dembele. He’s not a strong as Dembele but he is faster and better in the final third. He’d be a perfect pairing with Dier tbh. But I suppose this isn’t happening lol
