Sevilla fans giving him a standing ovation as he left the pitch despite their team being 5-0 down was a touch of class. Can't really recall seeing another player who was liked & respected by so many.

 

Yeah, that was very moving. He was exquisite tonight in every way.

He got the same treatment at Madrid during Suarez’s first game. He hit the insane volley goal and absolutely dominated the game. It’s someone special to break through that divide.

 

Special indeed - that world cup-winning goal puts him as the biggest legend in Spanish football history!

 

Him leaving is messing me up, haha. Messi is Messi, but Iniesta is my fave. My friend bought me an Iniesta jersey for Hanukkah this year and when it arrived it was a Messi one and we both were like “this still works” but now I really need one for Andres.

 

I've always wanted a Spain shirt with his name on the back because I liked the fact he & Xavi switched their 6 + 8 Barca numbers for Spain!

 

I’ve never fallen in love with any of the Spain kits. But that would be awesome. I had a pair of their shorts from the year they won the WC but they fell apart after like six years.

I still regret not getting the 12/13 away kit (the yellow and red stripes one) with Iniesta’s stuff on it.

I love Sid’s writing. And yeah, that goal was special. I was watching at a Pizza Hut I’ve done some reading on Andres’ depression since it’s something I’ve dealt with, too, and the stuff about how he got ready for the World Cup and overcame and whatnot really does make me adore him.
