That's the first match I've sat down to watch live in months. I wanted a great game, but really expected Jose to set up to just stink the place out. I'm glad I was wrong, as I got what I wanted.

My mate is in Barcelona on holiday, and him and his girlfriend went to the match tonight. Been getting Snapchat from him that he's shooting in the crowd all night. Somehow, Messi looks even better from that perspective. Like on TV he doesn't seem human, almost like it's watching FIFA or something. But up close, even on a shaky phone video, it's incredible.

Maybe it's because the amount of top class football I've seen like like that is limited to a couple of matches (mostly Championship and lower that I've been to), but wow. Just a different level.

 

Seeing Barcelona in person (twice) really did help me with understanding the level of the game Messi, Iniesta, Xavi, etc play out.

Watching Xavi control the midfield was wonderful.

I’m not fully convinced, but the rumors on Bale going back to Spurs are still strong. I’d love for it to happen but he’d have to take such a pay cut. Maybe he’s willing to do that in order to be happier. I doubt it though.

Kane with Eriksen, Dele, Bale behind him would be dominant.

 

If Bale is currently on 350k a week, how close could Spurs come to matching that? 150k-200k? Assuming Kane and co are on 150k p/w, Spurs would probably have to let one or two high earners go. Maybe sell Dan Levy?
