Love him or hate him, Gary Neville has been speaking quite a bit of sense about this on twitter. It's basically the inconsistency of it all. Players have no idea what they can and can't do. There's been 3 incidents this weekend - one wasn't carded, Ritchie got a yellow, Mane got a red. All very similar.

Shame that's happened - for the first time that I've watched one of his teams he had (IMO successfully) tried a different approach against Burnley, and he was done over by a backpass from a woeful player that was barely PL level when Palace bought him, and the fact that the best chances fell to a CB so bad at football he missed a free header (a HEADER! a CB's bread & butter ffs!) from 3 yards and a striker that I'm sure has trouble finishing a meal, let alone finishing chances put to him on a plate on the pitch.

He has his share of the blame and has shouldered it. The question is, why the fuck were Crystal Palace hiring a manager like him in the first place?

Perhaps unpopular opinion - when fit, Andy Carroll should always be in the England squad. Not starting, but in the squad. Love him or hate him, he offers something different and is exceptional at what he does.

I actually agree. The strikers we take should be Kane, Vardy, Sturridge and him. Rashford, Welbeck can both play wide too so also them for good squad coverage as backup.

 

I don't think Sturridge is good enough these days, injuries have ruined his career. Don't need him if you take Rashford and Welbz.
