There must be something seriously wrong in the management level, honestly, because playing alongside Messi you'd think would be a huge draw for many players. I'm sure playing alongside Ronaldo has sold people on Madrid before.

It's weird. The players are clearly very unhappy with the board re: Neymar. But there seems to be way more than that not being said.

The current president and the one before him (who is now in jail?!) have pretty much destroyed Barca from the inside out so it doesn't surprise me that Bartomeu is acting shady. Pep's team was a once in a lifetime occurrence but there was a structure in place that allowed it to happen/be so successful, but these presidents seem to have turned their backs on everything that made them so great.
Neymar's original transfer saga then subsequent sale, disrespecting Dani Alves and not offering him a contract, taking UNICEF off as shirt sponsor and replacing it with Quatar, selling every promising youth player then having to buy them back etc.

Yup and yup. A La Liga journo put forth recently that the president and board don't understand the club football DNA anymore. It's all about the business side of things. And not in the mes que un club Catalan meaning. Wouldn't be surprised by shady dealings with industries in China at all.

A guy I follow on Twitter says that Paulinho is a much better player now that he's in China and has been integral to Brazil's run to the next World Cup/back to #1. I've not seen him play since he left Tottenham, but if true, maybe the signing makes some sort of sense. I don't know.

Also on the Paulinho transfer, you never know he may turn out to be a good signing and may fit in better with the Barca setup rather than at Spurs but you have to feel the amount they're paying that it's a ridiculous risk to take that gamble (plus he most likely is still shit like).

Southampton are cool, always used to play as them on FM whenever I did a PL game. Would very much like to see them challenge for top 6 but that's still a tall order.

So like...what are some decent websites you guys frequent for your daily football fix? Like what should I use as a good homebase to cover the highlights of the day...ESPN FC? FoxSports?

    How about blogs?

Also same question but with who to follow on twitter.

You guys are giving me a great intro to the sport, thanks again!

Honestly, and I don't know whether anyone else does this, but for me, I follow /r/soccer on Reddit. That covers pretty much anything of note on the sport. New highlights constantly uploaded on the form of gifs. Sure, it's mostly full of jokes and attempts at banter in the comments, but the actual stuff posted it great to keep track of everything.

  14. Who to follow on twitter really depends on what team you follow.

But I do like some of the stuff Squawka puts out. r/soccer is good for news and highlights as well.

Honestly for anyone getting into football, if you like video games. Buy one. Playing it in conjunction with starting to watch will help.

Pro Evolution Soccer and FIFA are the two ones to try unless you're a fucking masochist like the rest of us then Football Manager is for you

I echo Nick with the LiveScore rec, definitely best app out there for keeping up with goals and who assured them. It also is pretty basic visually so can update on shitty signal.

Fifa 17 is on a big discount on PSN atm (at least it was on sat when I bought it) I think it was £15. Hopefully it's being discounted on other platforms and in the US.
