Pretty gutted about that. His last year or two at Newcastle weren't great, but he was such a beast at times. Awful that someone who was only 30 keeled over and died in training.

If we really have to lose DDG this summer, I'd hope we could at least bring Morata in.

Transfer fees are absolutely insane this window.
    $100m+ for Mbappe?
    £78m for Morata?
    £50m for Van Dijk?

    Absolutely nuts.

If Pogba is valued at roughly £100m, how much would peak Messi and peak Ronaldo have been worth in today's market?

Claude Puel has been sacked. Thought he was a horrible appointment at the time.

    £89m not £100m :-p

Shit they'd still be worth more

If Pogba and his "potential" is £90million then CR7 should've cost a retrospective £1billion for what he's achieved since!

Transfer fees are never really an exact representation of a players worth cause there so much extra shit involved. Lukaku probably £100million cause £20million has to go to that fat fuck of an agent he's got...

It's remarkable that players pay for an agent, who presumably takes a % of their earnings and yet the clubs somehow end up paying the agents directly as part of the transfer. How the hell has that come to pass?

No idea. People like Mino Raiola are snakes who could negotiate anything from anyone - He was reportedly paid £24million as part of Pogba's deal!!! Sir Alex Ferguson said he hated him the moment he met him.

Also, 78m for Morata could be a bargain. He's played on three champions league final squads for the last three years. (Full disclosure: Zidane didn't have him on the bench even last year, which is bizarre. I might be forgetting an injury.)

Probably because he was at Juve last year

I like him but £78million is WAY too much for anyone bar the club he already plays for to be paying.

    Edit: oh, except United

Shit, really? I thought Madrid brought him back immediately following the loss to Barca. My b.

He had a really poor second year at Juve by all accounts, tbf.

Hopefully since we seem to be the only team in for him the price will come down.

Mexico released their prelim roster for the Gold Cup. I know they announced they were sending their B-squad so the A-squad could go to the Confed Cup, but damn. That's like 32 names I've never seen before.

There's a Hazard to Madrid rumor, so that may be part of it. Don't know that I believe the rumor, though.
