  2. Starting Zusi was worse than starting Wondo.
I absolutely would have rather him stay there and move Fabian up to wing where he belongs.

I'm still confused how in our entire player pool that we don't have one decent true* LB. Timmy Chandler notwithstanding.

*Fabian doesn't consider himself one, but damn he's good at it when we need it. And RB, but we're okay there as long as Yedlin's around. But also, kind of the same problem.

DMB is still incredibly solid for Houston and is a better option than spontaneously thrusting career CB's there out of the blue.

I guess that proves your point when the ONLY decent LB is retired from the player pool, haha. Villafana, maybe? Idk

I really need Jurgen to sit down and say, "I made a mistake." But hell may freeze over before that happens.

Not allowing Fabian to use his abilities going forward is reason enough not to have him back there in my opinion. Can he do the job back there? Absolutely, but the benefits of having him in an attacking role outweigh the benefits of having him back there.

Cherundolo can play LB because he's literally Jesus and is both left and right foot dominant, but yeah, until I get this clone machine working, that's not an option.

This loss is on me, guys. I'll hopefully have it running before Russia 2018.

Everyone is overreacting. We weren't going to win that game no matter who was on the field, or who was coaching. Argentina is a better team. That's really all there is to it.

I really can't give too much hell to Zardes and the back line. The midfield was abysmal and our captain lead that charge. Why is Wondo still in this squad? As much as I love the dreads, he was so far off the pace tonight.

That said, if you don't leave Messi at the top of the box unmarked on a short corner and he doesn't do what he does , I think this could have been a closer game.

We weren't winning that game guys. Just be happy that we made a good run at it with a bunch of players in their first major tourney.

We've won plenty of games in the past we weren't supposed to win. Just because you don't hold the team to a certain standard doesn't mean you should criticize others who do.

Plenty of other nations rotate new people into their line-ups for big tournaments and achieve success. We should be no different.

You can't lose by that scoreline and not criticize I'm sorry I don't give a f who the team we are playing is. When you can't link two passes together for a majority of the game it is a time for criticism.

The result means nothing to me, and I don't think anyone holds the loss against Jurgen or the team.

My whole beef is you had a chance to see what two of the most intriguing prospects in the player pool could do against top opposition, in a game where you wouldn't be judged for throwing them out there. Why just play it safe and resign yourself to the boring lineup?

Not to keep going back to it, but Spain in 2009 was equally as monumental a task. Arguably even harder considering their streak at the time. We had no business winning that game. Tonight was literally no different.

Were we completely obliterated on the pitch tonight? Yes. Do we as fans have a right to criticize decisions made that made that obliteration easier? Absolutely.

It's not an over reaction to say we should've played better. It's not an over reaction to say we had a chance. It's literally how sports work.

Three if you throw in Jordan Morris. Why was he not there but Wondo was?

On a positive note, I hope that Bobby Wood goes into the Bundesliga and continues this run of form he has been on. We missed his energy tonight and he brings something to this squad that we are greatly needing.

    Be my alibi?

Once again the American mentality needs to change. Argentina was the better team and were heavy favorites not only going in, but also to win the tournament. Not pressuring the ball at hall in Argentina's half was reminiscent of the Bradley coaching days. It's easy to blame players and there are plenty of weak spots, but the mentality to actually fight for possession still alludes the team. Having Jones and Wood would not have changed that. The angriest part as a fan is the zero shots, Zusi should of shot the ball instead of passing. But it was a piss poor effort on the Americans part and they showed exactly why they are not in the Olympics and failed to qualify for the Confederations cup. On the flip side, they showed great potential managing to get as far as they did. Bad news they will have to play an angry Chile or Columbia team which doesn't bode well.

The way the Euros work, only one of Spain, France, Italy, Germany and England (haha) can reach the final. If Portugal win tonight, they'll be the same. The other side of the Euro draw is relatively clear, big chance for Croatia or Belgium now.
