Sets up a great game against Italy though if Italy get a result tomorrow.

 

Italy are already confirmed as 1st place so they play vs. Spain in the next round.

Edit: And the winner will play vs. Germany if we make it to the quarter finals.

 

I thought Belgium technically could finish above them but it's highly unlikely as they'd need to win by a few goals and Italy lose to Ireland.

 

Italy beat Belgium so they won the head to head which is the first tie-breaker when two teams are level on points.

 

Ah ok, I didn't realise it was head to head first. I though it was GD then H2H. Awesome well that's great to have a fixture like that in the first round of knockouts.

 

Gonna be a tough road for Italy. I still have faith!

Italy could face Spain, Germany, France and then whoever reaches the final from the other side of the bracket. Can't get much harder than that.

Italy should let us win so. If we win and Sweden win, Belgium are out which would be a good laugh.

 

With how the knockout stage is shaping up I could see Croatia making a run to the semis or finals. It's almost unfair how half of the bracket will be stacked with the other half fairly weak.

Is it crazy to say they should do something similar to Europa and CL and have a draw before each round?

 

Can't believe Spain lost :( hate to see my two favorite teams match up right at the start of the knockout stage.
