yeah, I love Jaws 2 and have watched it dozens of times, starting when I was kid on VHS. I maybe have watched it more times than Jaws. but I would not argue that it's one of the greatest movies of all time.
I knew One from the Heart bombed and is what led to the derailing of his career, but I did not realize just how bad it did. Less than a million dollars in the box office against a 26 million dollar budget. That has to be some sort of ratio record. I haven't done a director filmography dive in a while but maybe I will fill in my gaps with Coppola.
I’ve got his first film with Roger Corman, Dementia 13, on my Tubi watchlist, but I’m tempted to wait until this is about to drop, and then watch ‘em both in the same week. I also kinda wanna watch the Corman film it was shot alongside (which I don’t think is on Tubi) beforehand, just for fun.
Francis must have dropped his asking prices post-Cannes lower but still too much for a studio like A24 or NEON to pick up. Lionsgate makes sense as a happy medium
