Documentary Series about the McDonald's Monopoly game scam that occurred between 1989 and 2001 by ex-cop, Jerry Jacobson. The series premiered on February 3, 2020 on HBO. First episode has aired, and I am enjoying it so far. Doug the FBI agent is quite the character.
Watched the first half of the first episode last night before passing out. Seems pretty interesting. I'll keep with it.
I want to watch this but there’s no way I’m gonna do it over a 6-week span so will likely wait until I can watch all at once.
Watched the first episode on Saturday and really enjoyed it, going to stick with it. Wasn't Ben Affleck supposed to make this into a movie?
Sounds like it's in Development Hell. https://screenrant.com/mcscam-movie-ben-affleck-mcdonalds-monopoly-scam-what-happened/
Yeah... I'll watch tonight's episode but then wait until it's all over to watch the rest of the four episodes.
Ya know, I think Ben Affleck could pull the feature film version off. Way more interesting for him to direct something like this, than his Batman
Just now starting this. Super intriguing. This game was my shit as a kid. Guess it’s how I first learned everything in this world was gonna be stacked against me as a Millennial.
There’s no way this should have been six episodes. So much filler that was unnecessary - or at least not necessary in how they presented it (could have just told us in a few sentences instead of several very length scenes). I actually stopped watching after episode 4 and just read a synopsis on the last two. Story is very interesting but execution was very disappointing.
