I honestly haven’t cared for Mayday Parade since their stellar self titled album. I’ve listened to songs here and there but nothing has really grabbed me since.
you could throw all of those later songs in shuffle and wouldn't know which album they belong to be fair
thats unfortunate because its great! sales be damned so many cool roads they coulda explored on that. look up and see infinity, look down and see nothing is such a stunner
We're gonna be talking about Black Lines forever as they continue to put out totally-fine-but-not-amazing pop punk albums for the rest of eternity. Every album gives me small glimpses of hope and I wish them all the best, but damn I wish they would push themselves out of that comfort zone again.
I always wondered why Jason and his brother didn't just make a band together, their bands were always in the same genres anyway and their voices are great together.
Jason is a bit more worshipy.. I fuggin love the guys voice but sometimes I cant stand some of his songs. Go Radio was fantastic and his solo album was pretty solid... but after that I was like meh.
I missed that their deal with Rise is seemingly over. Looks like the last couple singles have been independent with distribution assistance from Zack Zarillo’s Many Hats
I am quite surprised to find zero search results for Derek's solo stuff? Jason is even featured on one of the songs:
Looks like Sweet is the first of three releases this year: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/15iCJwabYw/
I don't mind this sound and understand why they're still doing it, but man I still want some heavy shit they've shown hints of over the years
It's definitely disappointing that we never got more like Black Lines or something building off of that trajectory.
Very curious to see if they actually pull off the three-part album they talked about. I can count on one hand the amount of projects like this talked up by bands that actually went to plan.
decided to throw on Black Lines this morning and now I'm having an existential crisis about this album being ten years old this year happy Wednesday
