Matt Skiba has posted a thank you to Blink-182 for his time in the band.

CONGRATULATIONS to the homies @markhoppus@tomdelonge and @travisbarker on their triumphant @blink182return/reunion and the release of their new single today‼️‼️I’m sure there’s a joke in here about releases and happy endings I’m missing but I am truly grateful for my time with blink and I am truly happy you guys are a band and a family again. THANKS TO THE BAND AND ALL THE BLINK FANS FOR HAVING ME. You were delicious! ❤️M. #fromchicagowithlove

I’m ready for another Alkaline Trio album and solo Skiba record. Matt absolutely killed it at Riot Fest.

Classy statement. Everyone can be cool with the situation. It doesn’t have to be dramatic. Happy for all involved, including Matt.

Might be the only person who prefers newer A3 vs older.

Skiba comes out of this looking like pro. Kept his long time band going in Alk3, gave them some exposure to a new audience, probably made some good money, and leaves with a classy comment (even if he wasn’t looped in). Kind of fees odd Mark and Travis haven’t publicly commented l, but I could see something coming out in the next days.

I wonder if after hearing Edging Matt’s kind of glad it’s over.

Be kind; everyone is on their own journey.

Someone commented somewhere that it’s as if Dad said he was going out for cigarettes and never came back, only to return 7 yrs later with your favorite candy…pretty much sums it up for me.

    Better than you, sorry

He’s the most mature out of the lot. I know from the beginning he was just going to enjoy the ride while it lasted. I think it lasted way longer than he thought and he’s truly just appreciative. Thanks Matt

And honestly, a huge part of the Blink fanbase didn’t even seem to respect or appreciate Matt’s time in the band. This bring Tom back (even though he’s left and returned and been kicked out of Blink) has gotta have been annoying to some degree. He was never in control in Blink. He tried to fill the role on California, and I think really shined on Nine.

It’s probably more fun to return to Alk3 full time where they operate more functionally and less in the spotlight. This may also mean more “other” Matt projects like Sekrets albums.

Crimson is god damn beautiful. Good Mourning is my cut off because it’s Just so amazing. What an opener. Damn. From Here to Infirmary is okay and Maybe I’ll Catch Fire is epic tho cuz of Radio. Never really felt their debut tho. That song Warbrain on the Rock Agaonst Bush comp is probably my all time favorite tho.

I love Neighborhoods. So hoping for more of that with Tom back.
Love Alkaline Trio. (Especially the later stuff) So when Matt joined Blink I was excited. That said, kinda wish the best tunes from both Matt records had been released as one banger record.
I also wish Matt had been invited to stay because Blink would kill live as a four piece. But maybe that’s too weird of a dynamic. Thanks for the tunes, Matt. You killed it!

Agony forward. Although I appreciate the thinking of 2005 as a present time.
