Matt is such an awesome dude. I proposed to my girlfriend at a meet and greet with him back in February. Definitely gotta order this when I get the chance.

Some Mad Hope on vinyl!!!

 

Saw this last night and literally yelled “YES!” out loud.

 

Now if we can only get a repress of Modern Love and a first press of Beneath These Fireworks to come through...

To be honest, I think At the Point would be great on vinyl, but there probably isn't a huge demand for it.

 

My brother has a copy of Modern Love because he was collecting at the time. I was not. I'd love any of those.

 

He told me in no uncertain terms that this album was not going to get pressed, back in 2015 or so. It's encouraging that they found a way to do it.

 

There is a guy who has been selling a “rare” press of Modern Love on Discogs. “Test pressing” that is red and comes with no cover.

Not worth some presumed bootleg. Gonna hope more pop out on the secondary market at some point.

Matt Nathanson's Some Mad Hope finally being pressed to vinyl for RSD BF release. Looks like I will have to pay a ridiculous amount on the secondary market.

 

Mailing list got his annual Christmas Cover(s) today.
Had to listen to River asap.

 

holy shit, I forgot he put out the Chicago covers thing earlier this year, never listened

 

He also teased more vinyl news to come. Wonder what it could be? I’m already hell bent on getting a copy of Some Mad Hope on Black Friday.

Maybe this means other records from his discography will be pressed.

 

Have never given Matt a proper listen but found a new copy of Some Mad Hope on CD for $5 so will be spinning that in the car for the next little while. Looking forward to it!
(For reference, $5 for a new CD is crazy cheap in Australia -- I also looked at a standard-edition copy of U2's Joshua Tree and it was over $30)

Update- I managed to get a front row center seat. Excited, but sitting solo and will be so uncomfortable. Worth it!

 

I never listened to that U2 covers album mentioned here, guess I gotta add it to my queue!

I can also get down with these influences, looks like it will be a more lower tempo record for him, which will be a nice change of pace.

His patreon and email list got presale access yesterday; mostly just balcony seats left. Won’t be surprised if he adds another date- seems to be a gap between the CT and Boston show.
