Was able to catch it today. I thought it was good but didn't particularly love the ending (though I guess it's what makes sense). Past Lives is better but I'm excited to keep watching Celine Song films for years to come.
Lifemaxing 6 inches is crazy. Also it kind of annoyed me every time they'd refer to someone by their first name/last initial.
Ehhhh…. I kind of get this. The movie made under a million the past week. It’s basically made its money and isn’t gonna gain more viewers with Fantastic Four hitting theaters next week. It’s not as egregious as some of these other VOD dates.
Yeah true, it's supposed to be released in cinemas in the UK next month I think and I am gonna have a busy month in August myself so I won't have the time to watch it in the cinema.
Finally saw Past Lives....a movie that could have been great if the characters could refrain from repeating the themes at us (esp in the last act). The use of John Cale's "You Know More Than I Know" (great song, mind you) gratingly on the nose, might have marked where I fully turned on it. Good first hourish tho.
God damn but then again I went to see Materialists last week in a mid afternoon Sunday screening and it was packed which didn't expect!
Zoe Winters was pretty amazing here. Enjoyed the color palette of mostly blues/whites/oranges/hints of pink, even if it became a bit smothering at a certain point. That’s probably all I have nice to say about this!
I really enjoyed this. Felt like they definitely sold a different movie with the trailers, but I liked what this was better than how they tried to make it look, if that makes sense. Chuckled throughout the entire thing and had a few very solid laughs. this didn't affect the movie at all, and I actually like the guy a lot, and he looks great for his age, but Chris Evans can't really pass for being in his 30's anymore
