Really enjoying the 2 songs he has put out for this so far. It's good stuff, pre-ordered the record today because of them.
Both new songs are awesome, and the second one blew me away as well. If you would have told me a month ago that the lead singer from citizen would make one of my AOTY contenders I probably would have laughed and said you didn't know my tastes too well, but here we are.
You're not the first one to guess that, but no haha. It's a video game reference. The game Half-Life 2 had a level called Anticitizen 101, and when I was younger I thought that was the coolest thing ever so it's been my online username for almost everything since I was like 12.
Ah ok gotcha. I like Citizen and this new solo record by Mat will be great as well. Didn't expect it so even better. It's a nice surprise and like you said who knows maybe AOTY contender.
This is sounding way better then I expected and each song has a distinct sound to it. Really excited for this.
I agree, each song is able to distinguish itself in a unique way that still feels like it'll make a cohesive album.
My pre-order came in today. Album is good, gonna need a more listens to really process it. A lot of acoustic tracks with some strings added in. Not really a fair comparison but I like it more than the newest Citizen album.
Other than Citizen you mean? Because I wouldn't call Citizen hardcore more like alternative rock but they are great.
Correct, I thought I heard he had a legit hardcore side project at one time. Maybe just remembering wrong though.
This is streaming. I saw this thread a while ago and decided to check out Direction and My Lucky #3 on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. I'll definitely be giving this some attention tonight
