Really sad news. I ADORE Brent's guitar solos and his bluegrass-influenced style. His solos in Oblivion, Roots Remain, Cold Dark Place, Jaguar God... Man, what a talent. He was one of the most unique musicians in heavy music in my opinion and I am devastated at how everything recently played out between him and his bandmates. Rest in peace, Brent.
have never been a listener but hard not to be in the loop regarding their public narrative lately. super tragic and Shakespearean to watch this all unfold, very eerie timing.

I still miss Brent terribly, but it's clear his interest in making music with Mastodon had been steadily waning since The Hunter. I'm excited to hear what they've cooked up with 4 members who are equally excited about making a new Mastodon record. This so really cool. Love that Troy is sounding a little grittier again, the production is crisp, much better than Hushed and Grim. That outro is really cool too, if you pulled that out of the song and showed it to me I would’ve been 100% sure it was Opeth.
I really like the new song. Sounds kinda throwback in a good way. Incredible tour lineup and they just skip the PNW. Brutal.
Wow okay that’s quite the promising single, bridging the old and the new, the outro put a smile on my face. Heaviest moments remind me of Blood Mountain or even Remission (ending riff).
