Just getting into this band, I've only listened to Emperor of Sands really, other stuff but briefly, but I really dig EOS. Toe to Toes is probably my favorite song so far, even though it's not on it.

 

You should check out Crack The Skye, The Hunter, and Once More Round The Sun as well!

 

Definitely will do.

 

Getting into them now may be the last push to see them with Coheed.

 

Is the general consensus that Leviathan is their best?

 

Yeah I believe so. I could not really get into anything before Crack The Skye, but that's more personal taste and not quality of music.

 

I think Leviathan and Crack the Skye are their best but Blood Mountain is excellent as well

 

Crack The Skye is their best work, but solid discography all the way through really.

they’re all amazing

 

Diamond In The Witch House is my favorite Mastodon/Scott Kelly song. Most of their collabs are really good but that one is on another level.

 

I was actually just about to put on Crack the Skye later cuz it’s been way too long, and it’s my favorite Mastodon album.

 

Crack the Skye is my favorite by far. All their albums are great though.

 

All their albums slap, but I think Leviathan is my fav.

 

Plus half the guys are from Rochester. My best friend's uncle grew up with them.

 

Yeah Crack The Skye is really tight. Oblivion is so rad. I love Brent and Troys vocals, they have so much character. Branns are a little more up the middle and wow me a bit less, but watching some studio videos, holy shit Brann is really talented. I mean they all are.

 

Spent a lot of time with the band recently, and here are my favorites thus far for albums. Favorite song is by far Toe To Toes

I've never been a fan of that song, but they def do it justice. Awesome cover.

 

They did a good job but I was hoping they'd mix it up more. Wanted a "Mastodon version" of the song and just got the original played by the guys frokm Mastodon.

 

brann didn't have to go that hard but he. fucking. did. that.

 

Yeah not a huge Led Zeppelin fan but this is definitely a good cover.

 

The Motherload is the perfect hard rock song
