Hey fyi that is not what Oklahoma City looks like

movie was mostly fun. Liked all of the character designs

Skeletor could have literally been anyone instead of Leto since it was cgi 99% of the time

script preeeeeetty bad

 

Literally no idea what the mid credit scene was supposed to be

 

What, with Orko? It's a nod to the cartoon having a moral at the end of every episode to get away with using the previous 20 minutes as a toy commercial.

 

No there’s a thing after Orko with a woman I was not familiar with. She also had a sword. I was not giving it my full attention tbf

 

She-Ra. He-Man's sister who was kidnapped and brainwashed by Hordak, lord of the Fright Zone and Skeletor's boss. It's who Duncan was hinting at when he said "Maybe she'll return too" to Marlena just before that scene.

 

Oh. None of my business

 

Swear to god no one ever said Marlena in this film

 

Anyway, I had a blast with this. Some of the humor did not land and was pretty cringe, but I loved seeing all these characters come to life, Leto (unfortunately) played the hell out of Skeletor, I liked the subplot with Duncan and Trap-Jaw having a little rivalry going.

The soundtrack was spot on. So glad they included both 4 Non Blondes and Princes Of The Universe in this. So glad they nodded to the old film with the Dolph cameo, Karg, and that silhouette of Gwildorf in the credits.

I am somewhat disappointed they spent all that time building up Adam as being a hero of empathy and yet it didn't factor into the climax at all because Skeletor is just evil. Felt like that could have paid off more.

I am glad they had nods at the end with Orko, She-Ra, Cringer as Battle Cat, and the hint at Stratos, because I highly doubt we get a sequel to this. I wish it were otherwise. Prove me wrong, world.

 

You should just know, Josh.

 

Going into this I knew solely: he man, skeletor, orko, castle grayskull. Was unfamiliar with really everything else lol

 

Like I owned most of these toys, so this was just tippy top for me. They made Mekaneck cool!

 

I liked all the side heroes

 

The woman who played Dian has a ton of stunt credits, ended up on her Instagram the other day

 

Two more thoughts:

Less cringe humor, more sassy Roboto.

If I had a nickel for every time Skeletor made a cruel joke after melting Moss Man, I'd have two nickels, which admittedly isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

 

Ah yes. “Ended up there.” Me too, buddy.

 

When I saw that, I thought “No reason to know who this character is because this isn’t getting a sequel.”
